A very angry Ukraine President Zelensky just aired a video ripping NATO for not imposing a "No Fly Zone" over Ukraine.

You'd think Zelensky is a President without an Army/Navy/Airforce. Does Ukraine not have any fighter jets to enact its own No-Fly-Zone?

Tomorrow (Saturday morning at 9am Eastern) Zelensky is holding a Teleconference with U.S. Senators. He will pull out all the stops in asking for direct U.S. intervention.

I'm starting to get the sense President ZELENSKY may be a "plant" by Russia, to draw more countries into the conflict, or to make it very clear they're going to stay out of it.

Why? Because Russia could have bombed or droned him many times over, if they wanted to. He's too readily available to the news media, to internet calls, and other forms of human contact. (Any country could track him. No challenge at all for Russia to do so.)

I'd say nothing irresponsible or negative whatsoever about it. Think any country with pride and patriotism would encourage the same. Here in the US it would simply happen with no one asking.

It is not like anyone is forcing Ukrainians to fight. Something like 1.4 million people have evacuated already. Everyone is making their own choice.

Against the force they face no one expected them to hold out this long. The civilians fighting for their home are likely the difference allowing them to hold out.

It shows bravery, pride, patriotism and so on. And yes most people would fight to the death for their homes, family, friends and so on.

Not a very well thought out statement there.

Ukraine has about 210 combat type aircraft.
Russia has something like 10,000

Ukraine has absolutely no chance to create a no fly zone against an invading russia. Which makes any long term defense almost impossible. If they do not get any military help they will fall but they will make russia pay a heavy price.

Anyone in that situation would be very emotional and upset. Watching their country be invaded and destroyed by another force will fo that.

One thing I like about him though is when offered a safe flight out of Ukraine he turned the US down saying he needs ammunition not a ride.

Looks like he intend to stand with his people and fight or die with them. Any true leader should. There are probably many things I wouldn't like about him but right now everyone sees a David vs Goliath battle

No one cheers for Goliath because everyone loves the underdog especially when being attacked by a bully.

Very few countries have the ability to enforce a no fly zone against anyone, anywhere.

It really isn't as easy as it seems against a determined enemy.

(Not difficult for the U.S. though, our Air Force and Navy were specifically equipped and trained for this.)

Even fewer over a country as large as Ukraine or against an adversary as well equipped as russia.

Ukraine's Air Force has been doing FAR better than anyone ever thought possible, but are horribly overmatched.

There is actually only one... And it is the one that can establish TRUE air superiority anytime it wants to. It would be petty much instant if that one country acted.

Not instant though, would require hitting THOUSANDS of russian ground targets INSIDE russia, shooting down thousands of russian aircraft, and being 100% successful at shooting down thousands of russian retaliatory missiles.

That ain't easy.

Most likely, think we are smarter than that.

Though we are heading towards WW3 already completely dictated by a crazy person's terms. The world is reacting while russia is taking action.

Right now though the US absolutely could not commit to direct military action. Though I doubt russia intends to stop with Ukraine. Putin has always wanted to restore the former soviet union. He only admires power and wants to project that with everything he does.

Yup, quite the dilemma.

How did nobody see this coming?

As an Englishman it is an alien concept to not defend this island to the last if invaded. It's kind of in our blood .
If you are not willing to do so then you do not deserve to live here or benefit from it in any way. Freedom isn't free

So your idea of RESTRAINT involves entering another country with ARMS, firing guided and unguided ordinance in places where PEOPLE live, and how are the Ukrainians supposed to read the message on these bombs that says, as you say "just leave for a little while cuz this is serious...but then you can come back in a little bit...really this war has NOTHING to do with you your home will be fine."

Where would it be written, on the front of their helicopters? On the underside of their tanks? Are they writing it on the map of Ukraine with the sites they have bombed?

Also just letting you know things are gonna get serious around where you live, nothing against you but you should just pick up and leave now, leave everything behind, and don't worry you'll be able to return to your bombed out apartment building in SOME time, don't ask when it's just to early to tell. Put your whole life on hold, set up a new one elsewhere and you'll be totally fine..again I'm showing RESTRAINT you should be thanking me.

IMO - KNOWING that Putin does NOT really want to kill him, Ukraine President Zelensky held a ZOOM teleconference call with U.S. Senators this morning.

Hes attempting to drag us into ww3. Forcing his people to basically be cannon fodder in order make it a worse humanitarian crisis and cause nato to react. I'm guessing the globalists are pulling his strings and attempting to start ww3.

If Canada was invaded by a foreign power, it wouldn't matter to me if it was Trudeau, O'Toole, pollivert, Bernier, Singh or any other worthless POS leading my country, I'd be stepping up to fight.

I'm old, I wouldn't gaf about whether I live or not but I would not sit idly by and let another country try and conquer us without resisting. If the gov wanted to augment my own personal weaponry, then HELL YA I'm taking it. Give me as much as you could spare and I'll do my best to put it to good use by taking a few with me.

Maybe you don't see your country the same way.
