I don't think she meant any harm by her comments. Her last name is Goldberg which is a Jewish name. She married a Jewish guy and she has a half Jewish daughter. She probably felt overconfident that she could speak for Jewish people on the issue.

I think you proved her point with "Jews are not a race actually but it is an ancient tribal term, and Judaism is a religion but Nazis considered them a race." Do you now give credence to Nazi dogma?

About half of those murdered were Jewish and the others were from other groups that the Nazis didn't like; Slavs, Gypsies, political prisoners, prisoners of war, homosexuals, mentally disturbed, handicapped, etc. This is about man's inhumanity to man.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but the reaction is so weird, yet not surprising; it is such an obvious example of being prepared to be offended.

Every every sociologist, every psychologist and every historian worth their salt would agree, at least at private levels with Goldberg - at a fundamental level, holocaust was not about race; it was about out-grouping by creating a common "enemy of the weak and undesirebles". It is quite literally textbook.

Remember, the program initially targeted the disabled, then the socialists, the communists and the social democrats, the trade union leaders, authors and other "subversive" artists, the gays, and the Christian clergy.

Anyway, all sorts of "enemies of the state" were created by the regime, and was subsequently rounded up and sent to the camps, and it indeed shows less about man's racism than it does about man's fundamental inhumanity to man.

There should not be anything controversial about that statement and it most definitely was not ignorant - they all act like Goldberg simply "yeah, the Nazis weren't racist." full stop.

Whoopi never implied the Nazis weren't racists - she implied that acts of racism can be rooted in something more fundamental; man's inherent ability to be inhumane.

Her brain (along with many other people) has been re-wired to believe this wacky new definition of 'Racism', wherein if it's not anti-black then it has nothing to do with race.

When Goldberg was trying to clean up the mess she made it a point to state to the other ladies that it was not about skin color. She even pointed out to them that the moment the topic is brought into the conversation people loose the point she was trying to make.

I agree.. However we need to be reminded that the Nazis considered themselves a part of the Master Race. That means even white people who did not meet the Nazi criteria were subhuman. The extent the Nazis went to show the world they were somehow different than everyone else says a lot. The moment you bring race into the debate you lose the focus and where Goldberg was trying to go. Ironically the response by the other women was they couldn't grasp the point she was making because they automatically made the jump to racism and the moment they did that they turned there hearing off and stopped listening to what she was trying to say.

Others made the comment about the cancel culture, but In this case I think Goldberg got a taste of liberalism and their close mindedness, especially when they are not understanding the conversation.

I think this new ideological "wokeness" cult turns people REALLY ugly. Not that I ever thought of woopie as "cute" or anything, but at least she used to look human. I can barely stand to look at that beast now. You can try to hide evil but the truth will always prevail. Even Hollywood tricks can't hide it anymore.

Idk about this one. It seems the biggest complaint is her comments offended the Jewish community for minimizing “Jewish” suffering and the other big one is when she said “well both groups were white.” I can agree to an extent that she is correct that the holocaust is an example of man’s inhumanity towards man I see nothing offensive about that because it is an example of mankind’s evil towards each other. I have a feeling my opinion here isn’t going to be popular but I do also believe that the complaint from the Jewish community about her comment did understate the devastation and suffering of the Jewish people but they should also realize she’s a dumb ass talking head on the magic picture box that lost any real relevance after the production of sister act.

It will take time, but eventually the planet will be inhabited by ONE race of humans, because we will mix to the point where there are no differences anymore. Few 1000 years, but it will happen.

The Holocaust was a genocide intended to wipe out several races via pseudoscience of eugenics with the intention being to create a single Aryan master race.

It's pretty dumb to think it wasn't based on race or different ethnic groups of 'white europeans' such as Slav, Roma, don't exist/weren't killed in millions during the Holocaust.

I'm not a fan of cancel culture but If someone denied the Rwandan genocide or claimed it wasn't racist because Tutsi and Hutu are both black and all black people look the same they'd be thrown off air immediately so why is it different here?
