Why would a stage prop gun even have the capability of firing a real bullet ?

Good question.

Comedic value?

The actor is.

No. A Prop Master or Armorer is. Many times the actor is instructed in exactly what to do and how to do it. The gun or prop gun is prepared by the Prop Master or Armorer and handed to the actor just before the scene is shot.

On that note sciencelol i tend to agree.

However you said "I am not religious".

Anyroad that Man has just accidentally killed one person and injured another.

A wee bit empathy probably would not go a miss all around.

Just saying.

If you believe its an accident. They lie to us about everything .

Nothing in Hollywood is an accident

I can pretty much guarantee Baldwin did not load the weapon prop because that's the task of the ""Prop Master"".

Hence the Man you are praying to be arrested and charged seems a strange target for your attention.

How is Hollywood any different from anywhere else on the planet?

To err is Human you see, people make mistakes, even in Hollywood.

Karma is good or bad luck, viewed as resulting from ones actions.

What did the cinematographer do, or the director for that matter, to receive such Karma?

You see logically mate Karma don't fly nether.

However wishing bad things to happen to innocent people, I'm lead to believe that would indeed produce such a thing as negative Kama, should you choose to believe in such an ideology, so again good luck with that.

three pages in and so much silliness.

chances are there was no real, live round with a bullet in it.

what is the general difference between a prop gun and a real gun? a prop gun is loaded with "blank cartridges. that does not mean it is not dangerous. what is the difference between a real, live cartage, and a blank? a blank normally has less gunpowder, and no bullet. because of this it uses wadding to help hold the gunpowder in, instead of a bullet. the casing is also a lot more crimped than a casing holding a bullet in place. other than that it is no different than a "live round". it still has gunpowder, just normally, but not always less. it still has the same primer, to fire it. it is still activated by the same firing pin and mechanism as any ammunition of the same type, for the same type of gun.

how can such a prop gun, loaded with blanks kill? actually it could be one or more of several things. if foreign matter such as dirt ends up in the barrel after being dropped, or put down. which happens a lot in filming, with the same scene being shot multiple times. including "throw gun on ground, pick up gun and fire", a rather common movie and TV trope. that foreign matter can be shot out, just like a real bullet.

the wadding used to help hold the gunpowder can also be fired out of it. again just like a bullet. then of course the casing can break. made more likely by the crimping done on blanks, which weakens it. pieces of it can also be shot out, just like a bullet. and even with only a partial charge, all of these things are lighter than an actual bullet, meaning they don't need near as much powder to have the same power and velocity of a real bullet.

this would be nowhere even close to the first time a blank round has killed, especially in the entertainment industry. and it won't be the last time.

fact is almost any fake weapon can kill, and it happens. a blunted [ie not sharp), knife or sword can and does kill. a plastic, or wooden sword, can still kill, and it happens. even a specially designed and crafted, to be safe fencing foil, used by experts in that fighting technique, can still kill. as happened to an Olympic, gold medalist fencer found out when he was killed in a world fencing championship, in 1982. when his opponent's foil broke during a bout, and killed him.

Hey...why not? Let's just add to the mystery and stir the conspiracy pot.

Born in Ukraine in 1979, Hutchins grew up on a Soviet military base in the Arctic Circle. She attended Kyiv National University and graduated with a degree in international journalism. In her first career, she worked as an investigative journalist for British documentary productions in Eastern Europe.
