What about back up generators at hospitals, fire stations, federal a buildings. I suppose it’s ok to sell large ones but not small ones?

Those are diesel, so yeah, it appears those are still okay.

So some enterprising engineer should have glow plug head diesel lawn equipment, chain saws, etc... rollin mini coal in no time to skirt the new law.

My thought exactly. Why get upset about a self correcting feature? Can’t remove the forest debris because you banned the equipment to remove it, the forest fires will get it soon enough. Of course they will burn up the electric lines that recharge the batteries too. Win-Win.

Diesel chain saws existed, they were a thing.

I had not heard of a Diesel Chainsaw, lots of other small-ish Diesels though. Pretty cool, will look into why it didn't gain more use.

Ban cars trailers and tractors too, Stupid morons!

I only ask that you ban moving out of Cali, don't want your stupidity to infect the other states

They're all flooding into Texas. Goodbye Texas.

Yeah, the californian wokes are already invading Texan jobs in schools.

Thy are like those Sharia followers that come here. They are escaping the #hole they came from and create the same #hole that they fled to.

Newsom is also destroying the California Sport Fishing Industry, forcing them to turn to new 'clean burning' engines. Most of them will go bankrupt.

They have banned a number of things in Calif, and I just drive to Reno or lost wages and stock up on the banned items.
I can get my Calif banned stuff and hit the smoke shops for half a case of tax free cigs, a gun store for ammo, the fireworks stand for fireworks and get a good meal at one of the casinos.

And in most cases everything is cheaper then calif

California: The dumbest state with the dumbest people, voting for the dumbest politicians, who do the dumbest things possible.

My number one rule remains in effect. Don't do stupid things with stupid people in stupid places.

This rule has kept me out of California for several years.

I lived in Washington state for most of my life, and many of the Californians that moved up there said the same thing...until they started wanting to turn Washington into California North. They've succeeded in far too many ways.

That's why, though not the only reason, I moved to the South.

How is this even legal? Now the state is telling us which commonly used appliances we can own.

From how I'm reading this it's a ban on sales of new products, existing ones are still legal. I suspect this will create a sub-culture of small engine repairs and part manufacturing.

Black markets.

I would imagine it would look something like this...🤣

I grew up in SoCal, and in just a few weeks we are finally leaving for good. So many people here are in a liberal psychosis and I can understand why people don't want Californian's moving into their state. We are embarrassed to say we are from CA, but not all of us are bringing those ideas...we are escaping from them!

My philosophy is, if you are truly escaping the ideas, welcome. Bring them with you, and you can hit the road back to where you came from.

There's a lot of culture here... and folks generally welcome those who want to be a part of it. Just don't try to turn Alabama into whatever you came away from. If we wanted to live the way you used to, we would have moved to where you were.

Just pointing out that arguments can be made for propane being a cleaner energy source than electricity (battery operated equipment). T

Diesel generators are more fuel efficient especially Tier 4's.

Golf clap for the emperor Newsom.

We ate through two rechargeable battery operated weedwhackers in a row. Two different brands (Toro, and Craftsman) and both died in under 2 years (waste of money) They didn't seem to be built to last by any means, and it sold me on never buying another battery-powered anything for yard work.

Then we stopped being voluntarily stupid and bought a gas powered Ryobi. Most of my minor yard tool/maintenance gripes/issues SOLVED. Gawd, buy for the power you need, not the toothless # Californians think is cooler.

The eco stuff is a good route, for people with no yards to maintain to begin with. What part of "the batteries drain fast and this isn't for a lot of square footage" is hard for people to compute?

Some of my neighbors got conned into the eco stuff here and there over time. It always gets "newness" use, but they put them up soon enough and fall back on the actual gas-powered tools.

Dear Gavin,

Ever fought a wildland fire without a chain saw? I hope you budgeted for an extension cord that can reach 1.9 million acres. Climate change is real the minute yachts and private jets are outlawed, and not a moment before.

How is this even legal? Now the state is telling us which commonly used appliances we can own. Will they now mandate that everyone MUST own an iPhone? A TV? Nose hair trimmers? FFS…

This is what happens when the government gets away with telling you you MUST buy a certain product —healthcare— from certain pre-approved companies or face a fine.

Depends on which Court it goes to.

" If there is ever a solar flare or EMP and the entire state of California is dependent on electricity or battery based power backups they will be up the creek."

THATS THE PLAN, EVERYTHING ELECTRIC,.....
so they can SHUT IT OFF, whenever they like.. if you dont get your 4th covid booster..

but with p.g.e. as supplier,.....good luck
