I agree on the FF front, but what angle is the aggressor playing at? I mean if it was to have a continued war there, then pulling troops out made no sense, and if it was about putting China in well then why create a dangerous situation, I'm going to have to really scratch the brain on this. The Taliban doesn't need to do this since they are ahead in this game, the MIC didn't need to do this since they could have just left the troops there, China didn't need to do this since it makes it more dangerous from them to move in an exploit the resources there, so who gains from this? Could be as simple as a local that came home to find his brother and father beheaded and mother and sister missing because someone in the family work with the US. Feeling betrayed by US and seeking revenge against the Taliban, and with nothing to lose, decided to take as many out from both sides as possible, perhaps provoking the US to strike the Taliban now in return?

How did a suicide bomber get past the Taliban checkpoints to the airport, tho?

I counted (1) USAF C-17 and (6) RAF A400M's on the ground.

Please tell me the RAF doesn't have more assets involved in the evacuation effort than the USAF.
