I never mentioned legality. Ford cars are legal too; don't mean I want one. Hell, it's legal for Auburn University to play football; don't make it "right."

Again, "free speech" is more properly the "free exchange of ideas." What idea, what thought, is expressed by "cussing" and cannot be said without "cussing"? What thought or idea is communicated by porn? Only one, and that one is something that has nothing to do with any non-participate.

Political thoughts and ideas, creative thoughts and ideas, and so on, are what is meant by "free speech." Not "shock speech." Both should be legal IMO, but only free speech needs protection.

Eh, not really. They've been more successful recently because apparently they got some Internet gurus to help, but this has been going on since before Limbaugh became big.

When Rush became a big hit and was franchised across the country, there were progressives (we still thought they were liberals back then) screaming to high Heaven about how unfair it was that his talk show was so popular and they didn't have one. They had several actually, but no one wanted to listen to their garbage. They tried several different bills to require stations that aired Rush to air competitors with "equal time"; didn't pan out for them.

It took all of the MSM in concert to get us to this point, and we, the American people, let it happen. Now the progressives are trying to shut down any semblance of "equal time."

Politics as usual.

This is more precise than how I put it.

More successful than at any time in American history.

Called it. Even before the site's official launch on Sunday there was at least one user that had already been hacked. I said if it wasn't due to user error then Gettr had a gaping hole its security. Turns out I was right.

I also agree about where you draw the line. Illegality, of course, but really poor taste? Disturbing images? Deviant behavior?

The last three are all free speech and if you want to promote yourself as supporting free speech you need to take the ugly, like getting meme'd to all hell by people in animal costumes.

I also think that just because you can say something doesn't mean you should say something. You have free speech but what you do with it can be important, impactful and have future ramifications.

I always thought it was just the lack of abilities to understand terms and conditions, but clearly that's not the case as several here have demonstrated they do, so it's more so a "terms for thee not for me" thing.
