Well here we go again, seems like the muzzles may have been taking off or maybe it's all because of Covid, but the international theater is heating up. You got NK shooting missiles, the Myanmar crisis, the ongoing border crisis, and now this. Russia is rattling its saber.

Last time a President let the State Department handle when an enemy that had troops massing on the border, Saddam rolled into Kuwait. Just saying...

Biden was heard commenting make sure the check from Burisma cleared...

KYIV, UKRAINE -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday accused Moscow of building up troops on his country's border as the United States warned Russia against "intimidating" Ukraine.

Kiev has been locked in a conflict with Russian-backed separatists since 2014, and this week Ukrainian officials reported Russian troop movement in annexed Crimea and on the border, near territories controlled by Moscow-backed separatists.

On Thursday, Zelensky's ministers discussed the escalating security situation with Western allies including U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.

"Muscle-flexing in the form of military exercises and possible provocations along the border are traditional Russian games," Zelensky said in a statement.

He accused Moscow of seeking to create "a threatening atmosphere" as Kiev hopes to resume a ceasefire brokered last year.

The U.S. State Department said it was "absolutely concerned by recent escalations of Russian aggressive and provocative actions in eastern Ukraine."

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov played down the build-up, saying “this should not bother anyone and it poses no threat to anyone.” Russia was taking measures to ensure the security of its own borders, he said.

“There is increased activity on the perimeter of Russia’s borders by NATO, other alliances, individual countries – it all obliges us to be vigilant,” said Peskov.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that most of Ukraine’s military appeared to understand the danger of a “hot conflict” in Donbas.

“I very much hope that they will not be ‘incited’ by politicians, who in turn will be ‘incited’ by the West, led by the United States,” said Lavrov.

A little history lesson here ...

When the Soviet Union broke up, there were many nuclear weapons in the Ukraine. Russia and the United States negotiated a treaty with the Ukraine. if the Ukraine would turn their weapons over to Russia, the US and Russia agreed to protect them militarily.

We see what happened.

Moral of the story #1: If you don't have nuclear weapons, get them. If you have nuclear weapons, don't give them up. Countries with nuclear weapons don't get invaded.

Moral of the story #2: Don't count on the US to keep a treaty. Of course, any Native American could have told them that.

Nato planes were scrambled 10 times in a six-hour period on Monday in response to an "unusual peak" of Russian flights in several areas, the Western military alliance said on Tuesday.

They intercepted planes near alliance airspace in the North Atlantic, North Sea, Baltic and Black Sea, Nato said.

You never know, because we underlings don't really get informed on the full picture, but it's most likely posturing because of some behind closed doors diplomatic dealings that aren't developing as Putin wants.

On Ukraine sad as it is, if Putin rolls in nobody would lift a finger, a lot of "we are outraged and appalled" but nothing more. Let's hope he doesn't know that.

I wouldn't be so sure
Biden is muppet.
If the MIC/Bankers... think they can make more money with open conflict in Ukraine. Then that's what will happen.

Russia has zero respect for any possible response from Biden or the muppets around him, so yea I expect they wont stop till they own the majority of ukraine.

Ukraine is part of Moscow's sphere of influence................... Trump got that 100% and had a mutual respect for Vlad. What if Putin is getting a little concerned by the replacement Biden? Trump and Putin offered us a real peace in our own time, now we are in unknown territory and Biden the loose cannon must scare the Ruskies into making a pre-emptive move

Oh don't get me wrong I don't want the US involved beyond the normal pissing and moaning. Honestly, Id like us to not get involved militarily unless it's absolutely needed and that means anywhere. Including Washington DC.

Not sure our leaders have our soldiers, air, and navy personnel best interests at heart.

I’ve said this before, Biden has projected weakness to the world.

Even before that, I knew that other Nations would become emboldened if Trump has lost the election and sure enough, they are doing it.

All we can hope is continue to bring awareness to it all in all capacities, home, work, restaurants, you name it.

Been watching this for about a week. Really surprised why I haven't seen it on ATS till now. It's something to watch. Looks like an army large enough to invade the entire country is going to the borders. This isn't some rag tag group of Russians pretending to not be Russian military like when the whole Crimea annexation started.

Personally I see no reason for us to be involved at all, I would be disturbed if the russian soldiers got out of control but even then thats not a mess we should be in since its somewhere between a civil war and a hot war.

I imagine getting involved would for sure mean a real Russia-USA war and that would be beyond bad. That would be a fight with all means ABC...

Wouldn't be helping Ukraine would more or less ensure there'll be nothing of it left.

Ukraine is not part of NATO.
The United States does not have a treaty with Ukraine to protect Ukraine if Russia invades and annexes The Ukraine into The Motherland.
NATO and the United States will do nothing
But give UN speeches at the Glorious UN and impose more economic sanctions on Russia. Like Russia gives a # they
Already are developing their own SWIFT system independent of the Bank of International Settlements and
They have their own independent Internet now.
The Harris-Biden administration will do nothing to protect the Ukrainian people.
I have a feeling Ukraine will bite Biden in the caboose.
Thanks a lot Hunter!!

I wanted to add that the Budapest memorandum that all 3 countries signed I believe states that the USA will go to the UN Security Council to seek “help” if the Ukraine sovereignty was violated. I seem to remember that Russia has a vote on the UN Security Council....lol

Ukraine should be partioned between Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Russia. Stupid made up country is nothing but trouble. Doesn’t even have a reason to exist. It has no unique majority ethnic group who can claim self deteemination, no unique culture. This “country” was born out of the treaty of Brest-Litovsk imposed by the German Empire on the new Soviet government as a way to rob the young government of it’s food supply.

Belarus is much the same. Just parts of Lithuania, Poland and Russia hacked out during Brest-Litovsk.
