Random in New York & cities (many may not actually be hate crimes but just random crimes etc)

Well, pretty soon it will be others having their way (and I take no pleasure or satisfaction in that. It just is what it is). For that reason alone, I'm actually surprised that he didn't take himself out as well.

He had to know this wasn't going to end well for him. Or maybe he's deluded enough to think otherwise. I guess I don't know and shouldn't pretend to know!

I never said anything like all Asians engage in human trafficking.

But, Asian massage parlors are, as poster Edumacated put it, notorious for prostitution. I don't know about Atlanta, but in Hawaii, where I spent 30 years, they were. Not to mention the gambling, loan sharking and drug dealing that went on.

Just cause Edumacated believes the same biased stuff doesn't make it true, hell I know if it was an area I didn't know I'd be likely saying the same thing. They busted a prostitution ring down the road a bit in Marietta but it's huge and sleazy in a lot of places compared to Acworth.

Painting with a broad semi-racist brush there, As I mentioned the first place was in Acworth I know Acworth and while it, of course, is possible I doubt it, that's not some sleazy shopping center in a crappy area. Again the ones in Atlanta on Piedmont Ave it is highly likely.

Like I said, it is widely known that Asian massage parlors are often fronts for prostitution rings. I live in a very wealthy town outside of Chicago now. We had three busts that I am familiar with... a town of about 65,000 people.

The fact of the matter is you are probably an upstanding citizen and sound a little sheltered so it isn't something you'd look for. No, not all Asian massage parlors engage in illicit sexual acts, but enough of them do for anyone who is reasonable street smart knows it is a thing.

Again Acworth isn't Atlanta my friend, I was there many times before last year, pretty sure I've been to the shopping center we used to have a client in the area as well as I have mentioned I have relatives from there too again not Atlanta Acworth.

That said I have worked and lived all over the Metro Atlanta area and have been roaming here since the late '70s. From Bankhead Hway to University Ave College Park hell where my other jobs didn't take me by courier and/or pest control jobs did. I've been to some decidedly seedy places both working and leisure.

I know exactly where he was on Piedmont Avenue and Cheshire Bridge Road we had a store in the area. Every retail space there has buzzers to let people in and has had them since the '80s and '90s. We used to sell our samples to a store on Piedmont Asian gentlemen and would sell them to the transvestites and strippers. Got stories about that too...

Buford Highway is some areas that have had a renaissance and are now okay but in others, it's nothing but sketchy places. Jimmy Carter Blvd is full of them.

Not to mention think for a moment if the massage parlor was run by "organized crime" or even someone shady they would have been armed themselves? Yet this 21 old preacher's som got the drop on them all. Come on man..

Acworth isn't special. These places open all over the place. Yeah, you expect to find them on Cheshirebride, Ponce, Buford Highway or other seedier strip mall type areas in the city, but they can be found anywhere.

Nah, Acworth isn't Atlanta! It is all rainbows and sunshine.

Most of these places are usually located in a low rent strip mall, open 24 hours or late hours, neon lights in window.... nothing about them scream come here for a "therapeutic massage".

Of course, all this could be mostly eliminated if prostitution were just legal, but that is another topic.

That solves part of the problem but many of these girls/women are trafficked.

Yes, but legalization makes trafficking much less profitable, particularly for illicit acts. However, it still won't necessarily end the exploitation.

New York Times did a huge expose a few years ago on Asian nail salons and how they exploit the nail techs; many of which are illegals (basically how they can do mani / pedicures for so cheap).

Waiting for people to come in claiming I'm being racist now for bringing up Asian nail salons...

To a degree, there are still going to be women/girls trafficked even if prostitution is rightly legalized. Denmark still has a trafficking problem despite prostitution being legal.

Produce the msm clip that supposedly triggered him. No sane persons would have done this and who carried out the other attacks in the other locations? The shooting could be gang related. Either a rival organization like the tong or other underworld group. Trafficking, prostitution and drugs have big profits. I’m not convinced the kid is guilty.
