In the 21st century, twelve years of school isn’t enough. That’s why under the Biden-Harris plan, community college will be free — and public colleges and universities will be tuition-free for families earning less than $125,000 a year.

Wow wow wow.
I spent a large part of my youth in Europe. At the time many countries over there had "free" higher education.
I never understood why we couldn't do it here.
Why stop at 12th grade? Education should always be encouraged.

Maybe being free isn't the answer but what we are doing now isn't working either!

There's nothing wrong with more people gaining access to higher education without taking on crippling debt. As long as their education leads to employment.

A "free" indoctrination education that the government that is indoctrinating you pays for with the sweat off of the middle classes backs!

This is genius!!!

We get to PAY for the privilege of having more Democrat-voting Generation Derps!

Erm...

Yay Big Government!!!!

Sorry about my social credit score now!!!

I'm also pretty pissed that I worked my ass off for years to pay for my own education!!!

I want....

New students should have to pay back the previous students debts first.

I don't think let just anyone go to college in Europe though. So sure, college can be free but 75% of current college students wouldn't' qualify to attend academically. They'd be tracked to vocational careers...

College is practically free. People just don't want to take that route... i.e., joining military.

Or attending less expensive schools or other sacrifices.

People just want to attend their dream schools and live large for four years without paying for it.

I still want reparations.

Maybe I'll go loot somewhere in 2022 in a typical liberal major city.

Once they have replaced the cops with social workers.

That's what reparations means now, right?

It won’t be “free.” It will be my hard-earned tax dollars, and yours, if you work, which pays for the “free” community college.

Sorry kids I guess you'll just have to go to Community College I can't afford to pay for everyone else's public university and yours at the same time.

You are correct, if anything it was actually more difficult to get accepted into college.

Well K-12 isn’t free and we are ok with that...

Stop and just seriously think about that for a minute. Why stop at 12th grade? Why shouldn’t community college be an extension of HS?
Wouldn’t a more educated society benefit everyone?

I agree, however why can't we subsidize private colleges so that you can choose whichever brainwashing institution you like, wheather it be "left" or "right"?

Depends on what people are studying...

My CC had a 2 semester long course on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings literature. I mean I read that shizz in the 7th grade.

Yeah I don't want to pay taxes for load of crap pretend edu daycare.

Education is what you make it. Frankly, more people need to learn from the skool of hard knocks so they don't grow up to be weak pretentious fops.

I agree with that. I also think we need to push in the non academic areas, like mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and welders, etc. It doesn’t all have to be doctors and lawyers.

I have often thought we have failed our youth. That age between 18-24 is such an important time. It’s also a time when a lot of kids get in trouble. Giving this age group more options is going in the right direction.

Best thing I ever did was drop out at year 3 and learn a trade skill. Not even the slightest regret.

I don’t think some of you understand what “free” means. That money has to come from somewhere and it will most likely be higher taxes for those of us that either paid for our college or never went. We’ve placed too much value on the need for a college education. I’m making over six figures and I have zero college.
