My mother has 11 siblings, ALL of them are married, with children.

Christmas Day is hers to host this year

She has EIGHTY turning up. All confirmed. Young children and elderly included.

Not one single mask will be seen. Hugs and kisses will be had. Close dining in her large house will be the same as it always is

I bet ten years wages that not one single person among us has given even the slightest consideration to the fascist’s “lOcKdOwN” rules or to the EXTREMELY REMOTE possibility that someone may have the China virus

(I certainly hope the dozens of vehicles in the driveway act as a “trigger” to some loser)

My family is wrapped with fear, Im not welcome this year for the danger of being close to family apparently brings. But they were socially distancing themselves in the house as an excuse to not see eachother so I kind of think it’s an excuse...

I have no fear of this virus. Open up the economy and let’s get down the road. Family is coming over on Christmas. Like me they are not afraid. No masks will be used either.

Clearly you don't understand how the reporting of these figures works. They (CDC) have only just released the 2019 figures, come back in a year and tell us if it's still the same?

Is there a break down by age group of the total killed by the virus/complications from the virus?

I caught a news segment where they said the U.S. hit 3 million deaths in a year for the first time ever.

Overall deaths in USA have increased last 30 years ,Relative Change +32% according to ourworldindata.org-

ourworldindat a.org.

From 1990 to 2020

2.25 million in 1990

2.96 million in 2020

Relative Change +32%

Difference from 1990 to 2020 = 715184

births-and-deaths

Lying with statistics. The population grew my probably 50-75mm people in that time frame.

On a per/1000 or 100,000 person basis I’d suspect the death rate actually declined.

You get more absolute deaths by count in a larger population. So, yeah, the absolute number of deaths will increase.

Thus, the above link means squat.

It has become abundantly clear to me who the fear mongers of ATS are, this thread is prime example.

Thanks for the OP... taking some of the panic out of the stupid narrative

The dead don't reproduce, though.

Neither do most men over 75... where most covid-19 deaths are occurring.

The estimated total deaths for 2020 in the US is 3.2 million, the largest increase(percentage and raw numbers) since 1918 which saw World War I and the Spanish Flu.

The OP has no basis for his claims and has a history of being intellectually dishonest and promoting 'alternative facts' which have become a popular viewpoint on here.

So if the death count is basically the same as 2019 how many deaths are re-branded to Covid-19 ?
This is a question that needs answering, and once you answer that, what was killing so many people in 2019 as well.

Here is an interesting point I read recently, a pharmaceutical rep who sells Oseltamivir(Tamiflu) was asked how much he sold this year compared to last year, in 2019 tons, in 2020 zero, not one order. I guess Covid-19 cured the flu.

The mask laws, social distancing, and precautions being taken to limit COVID exposure has a side effect of also greatly reducing the common influenza transmission.

Sure, it is still out there but at much lower levels than we have seen in a long time. This shows that masks and social distancing guidelines are actually effective.

You are wrong, I thought you might be right, so I checked for myself, I took this snapshot from the CDC website.

I am right on this one. Your snap shot does not tell the whole story. It does not list deaths from just influenza for one....I am not sure what you are trying to prove here.

That said....it lists 2.85 million deaths from February 1st until December 19th. 6 weeks of deaths are NOT listed and the number of deaths from the last month or so is in complete.

2.85 million is about how many deaths total in 2019....so a 15% increase of deaths from last year is a reasonable estimate.

Read it again it is referring to Covid data, which they did not have before that date.

Total US Deaths 2018 2.84 million

Total US Deaths 2019 2.85 million

Total US Deaths 2020 as of December 23th 2,851,438

Regardless, the data proves many deaths in 2020 were simply re-branded as Covid-19 in America.
The hospitals get more money for it.
