CDC Provisional Covid-19 Death Count

I thought most of ATS would find this information interesting.

This is an actual accurate CDC count, Showing how many deaths Covid-19 is responsible for in the USA to this date, there is a delay in the the info update but it is 95% complete.

I'm not going to elaborate as it is an unfolding situation , but as you can see things have been exaggerated a bit by the MSM.

*Data during this period are incomplete because of the lag in time between when the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to NCHS and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from 1 week to 8 weeks or more, depending on the jurisdiction, age, and cause of death.

Also, it will also be a question of Did Covid kill the person, or did the pneumonia etc. Or that lovely catch word Preexisting condition...

I just don't remember loads of nursing home folks dying like this before. Or cruise ships, or prisons...

not me saying , the CDC is saying

A friend of a friend went to the ER with some sort of unrelated emergency. She said the hospital told the EMT to code her as Covid-19 regardless of her condition. She told the EMT if they were going to do that to let her out and she would crawl to the hospital, she didn't have CV and wasn't going to let them pad their stats for the extra money.

Actually viruses, Flu and Pneumonia tare through nursing homes all the time the Media just does not make a thing of it.

Between the hyper-contagiousness and the compromised immune systems this has been harder on some than other strains. What I find interesting is how it can be so deadly to some and others have no symptoms whatsoever.

So if someone with asthma gets COVID-19, and it kills them. Did they die from asthma or COVID-19? Because they were alive before they caught the virus.

So if someone with asthma gets COVID-19, and it kills them. Did they die from asthma or COVID-19? Because they were alive before they caught the virus.

I dunno , If someone with AIDs catches the FLU and it kills them , then what killed them ?

I would say its a combination of both , as neither would have killed them outright , and so it is with Covid-19 and Asthma.

Bottom Line.. Only 0.03% of people in the United States have died due to covid 19 and the FLU combined.

Statistically, a huge fat nothing Burger of a crisis.

In that case, you died from a stab wound. COVID-19, on the other hand, attacks the lungs and very much kills people with weak lungs or immune systems. You can't say COVID-19 didn't kill them just because they had preexisting conditions. That's the dumbest sh#t I've ever heard.

The flu. AIDS doesn't kill directly.

You can't say COVID-19 didn't kill them just because they had preexisting conditions.

Depends on the "existing" condition.
And , if you had followed the link , you would have seen.

This ^^^.

The cause of death could be listed as "CoVid complicated by pneumonia," or "Pneumonia, secondary to CoVid." Whichever would be more practical for data purposes. Or whatever the proper medical terminology it is.

But there's no practical reason not to list both primary and secondary conditions contributing to the death.

And it seems quite impractical not to do so.

The flu. AIDS doesn't kill directly.

But Asthma does kill directly, it is commonly underestimated because it is so common .

But Take a person with Asthma and then take away there rescue inhaler , then have them run a hundred yard dash .

They would be dead before they could walk the hundred yards back to get there inhaler, you ask what killed them the Covid-19 or the Asthma. Both killed them, but in Actuality the Asthma killed them, because with out the Asthma the Covid-19 would probably not have kiilled them.

Oh yea and that is a matter of serious debate to say that AIDs does not kill out right.

1. It not being reported is the same as it not happening before

2. We do not have immunity to this NEW disease. We will now all have to have it. Every year a small proportion is infected by flu due to immunity and vaccination. What you observe is simply a matter of scale. And they knew everyone would end up having to get it...the goal wasnt wiping it out. It was flattening the curve to avoid overloading hospitals....which we did so well that most hospitals have MORE beds available now

The real issue is a panicked public that cant seem to remember basic information. So now people think lockdown is about avoiding disease entirely. Thats just absurd. I get called "idiot" by people who believe absurd notions. The irony, eh?

You didn't actually expect people to understand the distinction did you ?

A person maybe would get it , but explaining the lock-down to a group of people in this case the American public is a futile effort . Especially the way the Media went about it, panic and over-reaction was all but guaranteed .

And in most cases over-reacting about the cleanliness and seriousness of a Viral outbreak would be a good thing , but in this case it just so happen to tank our economy and set us back decades .

So really in my opinion if Herd immunity was the goal , it could have been handled a bit differently that would have been less catastrophic to the Economy

What this Provisional List from the CDC really is , is Damage control .

I suspect we will see a lot of that in the near future, Back peddling and Damage control . And of course a whole lot of blaming will be thrown around , I mean after all someone has to take the fall for all of this. This list is just the start of them saying ok we had the numbers wrong , this is technically what the damage really is.

So, the number of people who have been Covid-19 coded and died is 24,555.

Then, they are lumping in all pneumonia, and influenza for the official number of 51,949

I looked back on the 2014-2015 flu season. That was the year that everyone in my house got a flu type bug. There were 7 of us living in the house at that time. We all got sick, my husbands heart got so overworked and damaged with this bug that he is still in heart failure with EF of 23%. None of us went to the hospital right away and my husband didn't find out about his heart for 3 more months. Anyway, that's why I looked at the 2014-2015 season.

The week ending on April 24, 2015 (week 16) had 51,608 deaths attributed to the flu.

Just makes you think.

With my husband, we are all paranoid and clean everything before it comes into the house, we all wear masks when going out, and do hand hygiene. But, we do go out. He goes out.

I'm not going to call it a nothing burger, but I think the U.S. has gone on over drive. No one knew what was coming, or how it would effect the hospitals. Now the numbers are coming in and it seems like another flu type illness.
