So what ?
Obama ordered Christ, JESUS CHRIST, to be covered up during your Oboner's visit to Georgetown in 2009.
Honestly is he the leader of the free world or a toddler
The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said the president was not involved in the planning,
Ugj, it IS fake news.

So in summary despite the claims of fake news:
The USN has yet to deny that the memo/story contained in the WSJ is fake simply that the stern was NOT covered when POTUS was there.
The USN has yet to address the issue nor deny they were asked by the White House to do so
The other thing I missed is that according to the article they could not move the ship out of the way because it is still being repaired from the collision that took place in August of 2017. Jebus that should be explained as well. 2 years for a frontline ship??????
If its obviously Fake news then why are Brietbart, the NY Post, and Fox quoting it without their usual denials?
The WSJ sides more conservative no? When did it become 'Fake News"

Even MSNBC appeared to refute Ballhaus' claims, noting that the tarp was removed before the president arrived in Japan.
"A spokesperson for US Pacific Fleet said the picture of the tarp is from Friday and it was taken down on Saturday," MSNBC's Katy Tur tweeted. "'All ships remained in normal configuration during POTUS' visit,' CDR Nate Christensen said."
Reporter Claims Name Of USS John McCain Covered During Japan Trip. Then More Info Comes Out.
The misinformation is so deep and rampant these days. The only thing anyone has to go on is instincts and intellect, which the fake news media is well aware is in short supply these days. Thank god for the deluge of information at everyone's fingertips, it's just sad that so many get hit in the feels and run with the initial attempts at being manipulated, only to hold fast to their initial response in the face of actual proof.
Thank god for the stupidity of the average human, without that we would never have such a chance to be held back and manipulated.

So the USN, itself, has debunked this thread as Fake News.
Isn't that enough to send this thread to the HOAX bin?
I would hate to think that on ATS, different standards apply to threads posted by Super Moderators.
I say leave it.

It demostrates the WHO, WHAT and WHY this happens.
It encourages the audience to vet their information and whatever it is they consume on the internet.
It is a prime example of why we have to be careful about anything that is concerning "Politics" that there is a high chance the story will be twisted and misconstrued for public perception.
What more could you ask for when a perfect example is plopped right here in our forums for all to see.
I want to be as respectful as possible considering it is a Mod and thus will not overstep my lane.
That said, with all the info out now, I'm bowing out the thread.
