Take the high road.
Not the mud pit approach.

You and I can have a civil discussion

This

If the fed dialed back war to pay for this, 1.5 trillion over ten years is a good investment. We pay for k-12, if most of these universities are government funded anyways, why do kids have to pay a mortgage to go?

What antiquated "war" model are we still paying for?
Europe?
Really? They don't even like us. They are capable of defending themselves. Who is going to roll tanks into europe these days?
Close those bases bring those troops home.
Korea?
Bring those troops home as well.
A more effective deterrent is a surfaced Ohio class submarine.
"War" has changed; seems our plans have not.

Take the saved cash and subsidize higher education the same way k-12 is subsidized.
win win

Warren wants to do to student loans what democrats did for housing loans.

It crashed the economy and led us into a decade-long recession.

Which is probably their plan. . . . .

I think you give her to much credit.
I have no doubt she thinks her plan is great for the country.

These recent years of liberal indoctrination, or as Elizabeth Warren calls it, "college", should be credited back. I think a lot of students were ripped off in both their money and time lost.

Where did I ever say Trump was bad?

what was this then?

So then the Republicans ruined the university system.

I wasn't the one that tried to bring politics in to this.

mkay
I guess I am confused at your reference to "Republicans"?
Perhaps you have a definition of "politics" I am not familiar with?

Warren promising free college at least opens a conversation.
The solution to which will not come from solely one side.
Some one does not always have to lose for the nation to win.

I agree we need to educate our kids but I think my plan is better.

I'm not going to put my feet in my mouth like Obama and say manufacturing jobs are gone, but let Detroit show us times are changing.

We could not spend any more money than we are now and have spending that is actually an investment into our future.

How many more good jobs will come if our country is better educated? How much more revenue will be generated if instead of putting people on welfare, they are prosperous?

Weren't we told that Trump got the other NATO countries to start paying their share?

So if that's the case why do we continue to raise our DoD budget by ridiculous amounts every year?

Exactly.

Universal healthcare also makes more sense from an economic sense because it leads to less sick days and higher productivity.

Agreed.

But also border security , including walls, would be better in the long run for us.

Give the repubs their wall in exchange for healthcare.

Give them voter id and stop creating any new gun laws in exchange for tax paid college for all.

Then both sides agree to repeal the patriot act and stop all police actions in other countries and boom, better world for everyone.

Would you be ok with it if the funding got cut from another area of spending rather than new taxes and....

They can only go to state funded schools. If you're a state funded school, no more frivolous spending on campus that makes tutition 50,000 a year. If you want to pay a coach 50 million a year, go private. If a building needs marble facade walls, go private.

NopeNopeNope.

You create an entire class of new issues when you try to solve an issue that doesn't need solving.

JUST PAY YOUR DAMNED BILLS!

JESUS!

What's next?

Government forgiveness on car loans?

How about government forgiveness for new appliances because I only have last years ice maker in the fridge and I want this years model???

How about government forgiveness for telephones?

When does this crap ever stop!

Sorry, bit "ranty" this am.

What part of that was Mud Pittish?

Those are legitimate questions.

Every time we employ Trickle Down it leads to stagnant wages for the middle class and a recession.

Why should anyone need expected to support that model when a little socialism could reinvigorate the economy?

Is nato even needed at this point?
3.6% estimated of our gdp would make a real change in our education system
Would it not?

They do not employ trickle down. They employ supply-side economics.

“A little socialism”? You should just say that you want others to pay for your tuition. That at least would be more honest.

I have no problem with border control.

But why spend that money when you can curtail illegal immigration and make a profit?

If you actually start fining companies that hire illegals and legalize marijuana, the government will counter a lot of reasons illegal immigrants cross the border and at the same time make money.
