Well, if that's the case, we can just ignore Venezuela totally and refocus on making America greater.

Well in that case why interfere in the first place? Literally makes no difference if Maduro, Guiado or Ronald McDonald is in charge.

I always wondered how Venezuela of all places is a threat to America. They don’t seem much of a threat to anyone.

They are a threat to big oil. Both Russia and China have deals with Venezuela for oil.

What came first, the actions of Chavez or the sanctions?

Which actions of Chavez? Lifting his people out of illiteracy, providing healthcare and education, drastically reducing poverty? I know the one. Nationalizing the oil. And then maduro went and stopped trading in dollars. That was October. People should know if you a) have oil, b) drop the dollar, or c) try socialism that Uncle Sam is coming your way. They did all three. Guess they weren’t paying attention.

Which actions of Chavez?

Have a read, it's a bit long but fairly complete.
foreignpolicy.com...

Socialism is a downward spiral and prone to corruption at every level.

Jailing political opponents, shutting down independent media, squashing civil rights, increasing domestic violence, nationalizing private business and ever-increasing inflation.

U.S. taxpayers are sending $56 Billion in assistance to leaders of other countries this year. Apparently WE LIKE helping other nations. It's too bad most of it is squandered by leadership of the recipient nations.

56 billion ain't close to money we send abroad.

It was officially listed at $50 billion in 2017.
Source: en.wikipedia.org...

I remember people saying the $5.7 Billion Trump wanted for Wall Construction, was small compared to the $56 Billion in Foreign-Aid assistance in the 2019 budget. That's where I got the $56 billion number from.

Ahhh..there it is..OIL.

The U.S. now produces more oil than we consume, according to what a govt economist said last week. We export/sell what we don't need.

Yes, I’ve read all the narratives of both sides. And used history to sift through the bs. We have plenty saying why we had to go into Iraq as well. And I’m sure there are plenty narratives that said why Libya was such a bad place too. That bad Qaddafi, making his people the richest in Africa, with a good standard of living, education, healthcare, natural resources, etc. how dare he.

See, the difference between us is that when I recognize our nation, and it’s huge arm of propaganda, has constantly lied to us, again and again, through intervention after intervention, I understand it’s all lies to suit their agenda dujour. I don’t chose to believe them when their lies line up with my personal prejudices and philosophies. I know it’s all bs. So whenever I see the us saying why they may need to invade some nation to save it’s citizens I automatically research it from the opposite angle. Many of the people on here, on the other hand, wail and moan about how much the government lies whenever they say something you don’t agree with. But when it happens to line up with your hatred of socialism, or liberals, or poor people, then the govt is having a rare moment of honesty. I honestly don’t understand why anyone believes anything the msm, Be it fox, cnn, or whatever, has to say.

It’s not because we, you and me, need oil. It’s because our oil companies need their profits.

Amazing that people seem to miss this, or just ignore it out of their perceived reality.

So a news comment on Rubios post says the following - and I have no way to confirm this

'' This is a pro Maduro Bus sir, civilians were trying to stop it when GNB Forces aboard the buses opened fire near them to stop them blocking the regime buses ''

Nope I think its a ploy from Maduro, he has just seen the Peter Sellers film .The mouse that roared. and knows if he gets invaded the money pouring in from the troops and aid will make them rich overnight. You cant beat a good army of occupation to boost living standards.

Hey now, we all know it's a bi-partisan effort ✌️
I would like to see some Apache gunships work their miracles of humanitarian defense. Hopefully someone will fly some 4k hobby drone in the area for a more in depth analysis as well. It's going to hit Twitter first guys, then we got to beat everyone else to first dibs!

Exactly. Stop paying your global capitalist dues to the USA, better get ready to fight your way out of hell. Especially if there's oil to be had.

Although, Maduro did screw up a lot. Oil company's wanted to work with him like they did with Trinidad. He should have weighed in on his options.

Let me add this, for all of you supporting the coup down there and military intervention. I’ve seen plenty of you on here screaming about the caravan of migrants coming up to our border. The vast majority of them are from Honduras, which also happens to be the last place we participated in regime change. We did it because their “leftist” leader at the time was supporting a minimum wage increase. Dole and Chiquita couldn’t have that, so they enlisted us aid in overthrowing the govt there and installing a us puppet dictator who sold out his nation, and made the economy far worse. So the people left to come here. This is similar to Europe’s issues with Muslim immigrants fleeing their war torn nations which Europe helped the us destroy. See where this is going? I’m sure, if we go through with this, several years from now you will all be on here screaming about the masses of Venezuela’s migrants coming up here to steal your jobs and push your wages down, and rape your women, with again no recognition of the role you played in supporting the creation of their situation by supporting another false narrative of the need for us invasion to save their people via guns bombs and destruction, with your consent to our nation’s illegal, authoritarian, and predatory foreign policy.

So the us claimed the aid was to feed the people so that the people could be strong enough to overthrow the government and the usa even said it would use military force to get the aid in there.

How about just drop the sanctions and stop meddling in elections.
