This is entire thread is a perfect example of why people hate the US (and those who try to emulate them). Some people have no concept of the value of a dollar, or worse, they do and there is a bigger problem in the picture.

It's not just a kitchen job, and for those worried about the age of the house; it was always an intended upgrade since new. It's hard to explain, and I don't really feel like going into it...(because it will just make me more grumpy). In the end it will probably be a lot cheaper if I take my labor out of it, so whatever. I probably should have phrased it differently.
