It is nonsense (some of those studies were done on surnames - very shaky in SA).

Even then most of SA is thirst-land, or semi-desert (only 13 percent is arable).
The black tribes (the Xhosas and Zulus) had the best land along the coast,.

If they couldn't make that bloom, God knows what they will do in the desert.

The gun confiscation in South Africa is real.
300,000 legal gun owners have been told to turn them in.
They are setting the scene for a slaughter.
Fact is most guns in private hands are illegal and stolen or "lost" from police stations or the military.

They disbanded the rural protection teams (commando)

Now they are set to take White farms without compensation.

From what I understand, It will now be re visited in parliament as is procedurally required.
Up to now it has been an ad-hock commitee.
It does not mean that it is off the table at all.
If there is a 2/3rds majority in parliament this bill will have legal validity and proceed.
Populist tactics could still easily result in a tyranny of the majority.

I'm not even sure the ANC cares much if it works out.
They are just creating chaos before the elections, with the knowledge that if an opposition party comes out against the notion, they can be presented to the masses as the 'enemy of the people' which will benefit the ANC greatly.

I think you're right. It's about politics and power (and money of course).
The ANC has nothing to offer the millions of poor which is over 50% of the population.
So they hold out the promise of "free" land to get their support.
When Trump made his tweet about SA I knew it would have an impact and I am very, very glad he spoke about it.
In many ways it's the world's fault SA is in the mess it's in.
We put so much pressure on the Apartheid government they felt they had no choice.
The young and naive thought they could achieve the rainbow nation.
Well, they got it but rainbows don't have any white in them.

There's a few of us trying to bring visibility to what's going on.
I have to say South Africa has a fascinating history!
I knew very little until around 2 years ago when I took an interest.
The story of the Boer is equal to any minority group on the planet.
Centuries of struggle to get independence only to have it taken away.
If I travel anywhere I;m coming to SA, it's amazing country.
I can see why people wouldn't want to give it up.
