However, this also the latest in a series of incidents in which a child trying to make some summer money was shut down for not having an expensive city permit too.

Doesn't appear as though she was shutdown over a permit. Someone saying permit doesn't mean that is what happened.

No, I know, but that's what the threat was.

this is why we are no longer number one

So you;re happy to drive a car that hasnt come out of a factory line but produced by someone in their back yards and hasn't had quality control checks and being passed off as new?

i can't drive a car.

If i could then i would use rational to decide on what purchase to make.

If a car company makes crap then people will not buy it.

keep sinking down into that pile of doo you call logic though.

Yeah and your $ 5 magical tester that you mentioned above will let you peer into the back kitchens of restaurants and see who's breeding cockroaches. You should just give it a rest. Save it for when some real critical thinking is needed in the future.

that tester is for water

if you want gov. sponsored food poisoning then just pick out the restaurant that is not busy during rush hour...

common sense is your friend if you get to know it

It may take some time for the poisoning to work through the populace. That how they work out food recalls for food manufacturers (batch numbers)

Under your system you;d be driving around looking at all retailers like Walmart and counting empty car parking spaces. What then, are they empty because the tuna or the ham made them sick. Or maybe just maybe Walgreens was running some price cutting?

Yep this is how empirical science works in your world

That's not quite true.

I've seen plenty of very, very busy restaurants that had issues. I knew of one Mexican place in particular that was awesome and always busy that had mice. Occasionally one would run across the floor of the dining area while customers were there. I can only assume no one noticed.

Mixed feelings about this
Who's property was the selling conducted on
A permit allows for some comeback should the water be tainted - you can trace who sold what where
Yeah there are some rules that seem overkill but there are valid reasons.

To those that suggest that it teaches kids hard work and life lessons - dont forget that proper business practice ie permits are also a part of "life lessons"

Who's the idiot?

In your mind Big Brother took your freedom by setting hygiene standards.

You can always "live the life" and dream big by dumpster diving

you have that one on lock down

Idiot
Idiot was formerly a legal and psychiatric category of profound intellectual disability, where a person's mental age is two years or less, and he or she cannot guard himself or herself against common physical dangers. Wikipedia

by touting for intervention you openly admit to your stupidity and idiocy

it is not personal so do not take it as such.

you have shown that you belong in that category with the rest of the helpless that cry out for big brother to protect you cause you lack the discernment to fend for yourself

btw

you could have shut me up long ago if you would just have stated states rights

if you notice i have been touting the problems with federal intervention and i have put forth the idea that states can govern themselves however they see fit

Permits are usually city/county issued as determined by the State iirc. It's not a federal issue for the most part.

Nothing like learning your neighborhood is the new Love Canal because people do not want interference to a company saving money by dumping toxic material here and there.
