Nowhere is ever completely lost. Singapore was in the same situation back in the 1970's. Back then the citizens voted for a new political party run by Army generals. They took over, and eradicated the slime and filth that had taken over. If a particular district didn't cooperate in reporting criminals it was scheduled for redevelopment. The sex shops and backstreet casinos were closed down. Drug dealers were locked up or executed. Buildings were renovated, rents went up, streets became safe. By whatever means, the criminals were forced to leave the country.

London councils made the mistake of approval the development of green space in order to solve the housing crisis. It just created ghettoes where the wealthy wouldn't want to live. Now they are reversing that even with the protests against gentrification.

Not even remotely the problem, it's not the woman cycling in the burkha that's the issue. It's being able to follow behind her and being able to beat her, rape her and stone her to death that is the logistical issue at hand here.

More like they are being discouraged from it because if too many of them use it, someone has created a hypothesis that it intimidates other ethnicities who might also use it.

Too many of them on the roads and paths would keep anyone from cycling!

I commuted by bike for decades until I retired.

It was a way to get some exercise in my daily life.

I only know of one black biker that would ride on the weekends.

It's just another place where the under represented are under represented.

Have they thought about passing a law that mandates that all women and blacks must ride bicycles? Maybe issue a ticket if they’re caught walking or driving? That should fix that dire problem pretty quick. Maybe get that guy a raise while we’re at it.

I would love to see the looks on their faces if the Tour De France/UK were to come rolling through the neighborhood. I'm sure their heads would explode.

Most of those middle aged white guys on bicycles are not a threat to anyone...most don't pedal much quicker than a six year old in a pedal car (do they still have those?).

It's shocking how much harder it is for me to do my fifty mile rides today at 54, than it was when I was 24, and I'm in good shape for my age--mostly.
