It was "a small subset of mostly conservative information seekers" who consumed the propaganda. They where already predisposed to vote conservative (ie Trump) over liberal and would have done so with or with out the help of Russia.

The "Less than 80,000" that supposedly swayed the election where independents that could have broke ether way Trump or Clinton and this study shows that these people where unlikely influenced by the Russian propaganda.

So sure the Russians got a bunch of deplorables to believe strange things about Clinton ... but they would have never voted for Clinton.
