Putin has backed down his rhetoric from headlines this morning From the Russian envoy, it’s gone from Russia will shoot down missiles fired at Syria to if Russian troops get hurt they will. So if I trust this I don’t think the Russian will bust a grape unless we hit Russian soft or hard targets. Or it’s a trap.

Unless Russia claims some of their soldiers died as a result of any action (even if they didnt). Doesnt matter if its the truth. It would give them a "legal" basis to respond while hiding behind article 51 of the UN charter.

This is true. Sounds more like a trap. Putin, will have to do something since he is trying to appear like a victim to his people in his propaganda. Makes sense to me now.

I've always admitted that Russian missiles, including their SAM systems are damn good, and some of their air to air missiles leave ours in the dust. That isn't the same as saying their overall military is at the same level as ours. They've always been a threat, just not the threat that they once were.

The Russian military spent too many years with too much corruption to be considered a tier one military. They have improved a great deal in recent years, and Syria has been a really good classroom for them and shown where they needed work.

The S400 will easily stop any subsonic, non stealthy cruise missile in our inventory. And if a stealthy missile gets within detection range it'll stop them too. Don't underestimate Russian Air Defense Systems.

Since they revealed the S400's vulnerabilities back at the end of 2015, it is safe to say contingencies will include appropriate tactics to clear the way for missiles. Yes it is more difficult than clearing fixed defenses but there are only limited numbers in Syria compared to homeland Russia.

That's not a vulnerability, it's a way to target at long range. It also requires having upgraded Growlers and Hawkeyes in the area. That means a carrier, which, I don't believe we'll have in the area until late this month.

The US has lost a lot of our edge, both in current readiness and training rates and in general systems. Our electronic warfare systems are, at best, on par with the newest Russian systems, and that's largely because we use faster processors.

I work right across from a major defense contractor that I am sure is on the Russian target list. If it get real I am not going to work, gonna stay home with my wife. Pretty lousy state of affairs we are in here. I hope that reason prevails over insanity

Here is some prophecy:

When war starts with Russia, many of our government will flee for a few months, only to be killed off slowly as they try to hide with the masses when bunkers run out....and they will be blamed for this. BLAME will be more important than even winning the war.

Our military will fail for the first time in a while and in a way that can not be covered up. Its not that Russia is God, its that wartime Russia is God. We will go die on Russian soil. No Russian soldiers will die in the US.

We would fall apart when our highly structured society falls apart and military personnel arent paid, or protected. When their families are in danger, they will run to help them. I dont care what anyone says. I know it.

Then when enough of us have died the masterminds will try to end it, but people will not stop making war. Not random chaos, but organized WAR on them.

In short, we are about to get rocked. Not at first, but when you guys see we start to lose consecutive conflicts, get ready for a couple years of hell.

Europe will not survive. A new order will be born and it will not be designed by anyone alive now.

DC will get nuked by 3 nuclear warheads of 12 bound for DC.

NYC may be spared at first.

The yellowstone fault line will be nuked and cause massive damage to our western coast.

AND no wonder weapons will ever emerge to save us.

Enjoy the popcorn. People will be starving a little over a year after it all starts.

LOL couldn't care less about all of that dribble, and really not a Trump fan or basher for that matter. Just don't see the need to get sand in your underwear yet over this incident no more no less. I do feel strongly about what I say. I used the word "prophesy" to convey that this is more than just my brain saying it.

We are screwed. Plain and simple. Most have no idea how bad it actually is. There isnt even a point in tactical thought. Survival will be redefined for us and be the entirety of our world for a very long time.

No one is ready. No one. Not even the guys in the government "super" bunkers. This will be new.

Bunkers are sardine cans for hungry radiated people.
