Why would Russia allow Assad to use chemical weapons now? I'll tell you.

Russia told Assad to do it because it benefits Russia.

1) Last week China reaffirmed their alliance with Russia in a military fight against the USA. This emboldens Putin.
2) Putin is betting Trump will not respond because he can't get tangles with Russia/China/Iran
3) If Trump doesn't attack it'll cause political turmoil because it'll be "proof" that he's controlled by Putin.
4) Russia has plausible deniability because RT/Sputnik will run articles saying "Why would Assad gas his own people right after Trump said he's pulling out and he's winning". There is no better time for them to do this.
5) If Trump doesn't attack after drawing a red line he loses credibility on the international stage and Russia can say Trump didn't attack because he's scared of Russian power and that'll gain them more influence/allies in the Middle East.

Russian would accomplish geopolitical power and cause more turmoil in the USA homeland if Trump does not attack Assad.

So I know what you might be saying, "Why would Russia risk WW3"

They aren't risking WW3. They are going to threaten the USA all out right now, get them to back down so the battle is won without firing a shot. If Trump doesn't back down they're going to shoot down some missile and maybe bomb a US base after they call the de-escalation hotline and tell American personnel to leave the area first.

This will save face for Russia and make it look like they'll defend their regional allies. Overall not one member of American personnel will be killed in the defense. The response will be over and no retaliation will be needed from either side.


This is why Russia is denying chemical weapons experts to visit the site of the attack to investigate it because they are guilty.

This is why it makes me sick that so many Americans believe sputnik and RT over President Trump.

Most of the people that believe the Russian propaganda are actually Trump supporters, like Tucker Carlson, which really blows my mind.

Are people not capable of thinking outside of narratives anymore?

Is critical thinking completely gone?

Also, remember that Russia set the narrative on this a few weeks ago when they released through their propaganda outlets that the rebels were planning a false flag chemical attack to blame Assad.

They set this up from weeks ago. They're the ones who ordered it so they knew it was coming.

further russias position on the matter is there was no attack, there is no trace of chemical weapons being used where its claimed the attack occurred, they could find no witnesses or victims, the only nearby hospital also says there were no victims, and russia is inviting anyone to come look and verify themselves.

your logic seems to depend upon an actual attack having took place. that would make russias decision to invite people into the attack location pretty foolish...

Except Russia is not inviting anyone to come look.

They made it clear yesterday they're inviting who they chose and to what areas they chose.

Interesting idea, but not really all that realistic, you're assuming Assad is a Putin yes man and will use Chemical weapons at a request.

The Americans are at odds with Russia over Syria why would they want the Americans to stay in Syria ? To the Russians Syria is far more than a regional Ally it's a strategic necessity.

Lastly to think Russia wants to be in a major conflict with USA is a right wing fantasy.

Load of cobblers, If Russia holds the FIFA football world cup, it gives Russia a great PR coup and the revenue stream from ongoing tourist dollars would be beneficial. If this is wrecked for them in June it would be a problem. They wouldn't do anything to jeopardies it. But you can guarantee that if half of Britain goes and gets a real glimpse of what life in Russia is like , the Government would have some nasty questions to answer.
