Google searches for 'NRA membership' are up 4,900% and now we have a large surge in 18-20 year olds joining the Second Amendment Foundation. The NRA now has over 5 million paying members and growing. Those 5 million members only comprise somewhere between 6 and 7 percent of American gun owners. That would imply that the overwhelming majority of American gun owners (over 90 percent of them) do not belong to the NRA and many of them will resist gun control as well and come out in the midterms and vote.

I for one am glad the Democrats are pressing this now, before the midterms. Nothing better than to get half of America fired up against them.

Game On.

Second Amendment Foundation Sees 1,200% Surge In Youth Membership, Donations

www.dailywire.com...

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has seen a stunning 1,200% increase in youth membership and donations since the tragic South Florida school shooting on February 14.

In reaction to the calls to raise the age limit on ownership of certain guns subsequent to the school shooting, SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb says he's seen a 1,200% spike in 18-20-year-old memberships and donations.

As seen with the membership boost at SAF, Americans have responded swiftly to the intense calls to crack down on Second Amendment rights, in perhaps the exact opposite way those pushing such measures want them to.

www.saf.org...

The Second Amendment Foundation is the nation’s oldest and largest tax-exempt education, research, publishing and legal action group focusing on the Constitutional right and heritage to privately own and possess firearms. Founded in 1974, The Foundation has grown to more than 650,000 members and supporters and conducts many programs designed to better inform the public about the consequences of gun control.

What if it's a conspiracy?

What if the kids joining are doing it just so they can take down the nra from the inside?

What if the numbers are a lie put out by the nra to make themselves look better?

So what does the NRA membership look like today?

40% women
40% minority mostly Asian and Hispanic men and women.
Sure, the rest are a lot of white guys but the average age is down from 60 to 40-45.

I thought Google censored right-wing stuff, though?

Or does that only apply when the confirmation bias allows for?

This is the sort of thing I've been talking about, such as in response to the 'global governance' academics crowd.

The argument goes that no matter what idea some group might get, that the harder they will just have to push to get everyone to agree, with the case point of trying to turn a society into globalist, although they may get a sizable portion of that society on board, there are going to be just as many who the drive will push more and more towards the fringes of nationalism. Then you keep pushing and it just ends up radicalizing each side. Then nobody can even get along enough to compromise on basic stuff (like action items that org is trying to save us all from), so in such a hard push to save the world they end up just causing all new forms of division thus making it even worse than before.

That does sound kind of strange when you said it like that.

Don't you all get tired of throwing around 'boogie man' words (like socialist) when it's just makes it painfully obvious don't know how to use the word correctly and don't seem to understand what it means? What does this have to do with the workers owning the means of production?

Perhaps the bulk of the kids are smart enough to know that guns aren't going to do anything against a tyrannical government these days. The government wouldn't even have to fire a single shot if they really wanted to come after you.

All they have to do is cut electricity, cut cell phones towers, cut internet access, & cut the gas lines. All from the press of a button. No trigger. Then if you can handle that (the public won't be able to), then just a little toxic gas from above during the night (and that's just my quick low tech example... I'm sure there are countless more). Your cold dead hands will still be holding your gun... with one still in the chamber.

But I can see your fellow righties love it when you use scare-words. Yay scared stars!

By the NRA's own reckoning they had membership of over 4.5 million in 2012, so even with major mass gun violence then, and in the intervening years, their own stats have been pretty static in consideration...and, since the actual number is not so great as a percentage of the population as a whole, it must be pretty obvious that the gun owning population as a whole is pretty large, but also not particularly confined to any political party, probably a 50/50 near split between Republicans say 50% and all the rest 50%, while overall the gun owning US population is around the third mark.
On the other hand,
The protest rallies turnout was pretty huge...even if, (in Washington)f the CIC was playing golf elsewhere.
The signs are that the demographs are heading toward an even lower number of people wanting guns as an ultimate solution, and military weapon ownership, is probably near out the window.

Thank goodness. A light of sanity in the darkness of ignorance flooding the world.

Glad to hear the young generation are actually thinking for themselves amidst all the propaganda/indoctrination they have to deal with from the schools and media.

I know most of the youth in my neighborhood are clamoring to get their hands on a couple of pistols and a nice semi.

Good for them.

Yes I agree. That would make them "well regulated", and in compliance with the 2nd Amendment. Since "well regulated" in that historic context actually means well trained, orderly.

you may not understand why socialism was identified in my post but if you are interested in more than what you just post you may well look into history the last few times this happened

I don't know. Start with Hitler demonizing the Jews.

Maybe Mao.

Definition of tyrant
1 a : an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution
b : a usurper of sovereignty
2 a : a ruler who exercises absolute power oppressively or brutally
b : one resembling an oppressive ruler in the harsh use of authority or power

Definition of anarchy
1 a : absence of government
b : a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority the city's descent into anarchy
c : a utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government

The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and was adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the first ten amendments contained in the Bill of Rights. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the right belongs to individuals, while also ruling that the right is not unlimited and does not prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices.State and local governments are limited to the same extent as the federal government from infringing this right, per the incorporation of the Bill of Rights.
The Second Amendment was based partially on the right to keep and bear arms in English common law and was influenced by the English Bill of Rights of 1689. Sir William Blackstone described this right as an auxiliary right, supporting the natural rights of self-defense and resistance to oppression, and the civic duty to act in concert in defense of the state.

i think that covers everything that needs to be said about guns, laws, and leaders.

People are tired of seeing other's using their 1st amendment right to erode everyone's 2nd amendment right. There is no debating these people. They just want to impose their ideals on everyone. Using dead children as pawns for their political gain.

All the while ignoring the human element to this equation. Let's look at the system that lets these shooters evolve and let's the victims down. Rather than the tool's used. We have government agencies that require chaos to exist. They are not in the mind to stem the chaos otherwise they would be unemployed.

That said...
I renewed my NRA membership.
