Anything but a right wing nutjob, right?

Pretty sure right wing nutjobs don't go to BLM and anti-trump protests. There are videos and photos of Paddock at these events.

There are pics and vids of blurry unconfirmed identity white men at these protests, yes.

Still waiting for the link that says he was a NRA member.

Ok say he was an NRA member...I will go you one better, if you want to spin a sci-fi tale....I say he was a Leftist plant in the NRA to further the gun control agenda.

Do your own research.

And yes, you would think that, because, you know...

Denial.

HA! Really?
Why is it on me to try to prove the point you are trying to make....it's on you.
You make a statement but have nothing to back it up....typical.

This may be starting to gain some traction....I am seeing the story other places now.

I won't link the sources as some will say they are garbage but I am seeing it being reported.

Member of the NRA.

Tons of guns.

Must be a leftist ISIS agent..

The denial is strong here.

Very strong.

Granted but put your investigation hate on does he fit the MO for someone to shoot up a country music festival with many right leaning attendees, I say that as I would "guess" there where far more Gun loving right leaning members of the US of Awesome than there would be left??...

If he attacked a Jewish concert (Does such things exist?) or even a Democratic party gathering then yes hook line and sinker we have something. But what we know about this guy "officially" just does not add up..

The other line of enquiry is that he was just a total nut job but I would not be to happy simply putting that on my bosses desk if it was my job to find answers..

Do you have proof that he's a security guard beyond his word? What I'm telling you doesn't come from the government. It came from an independent study done on casino security in 2013. Only four casinos had cameras on every floor. The Mandalay Bay was not one of those casinos.

There is loads of speculation right now about his motivation.

right-wing terrorist, Left-wing terrorist, Islamic Terrorist, part of some other movement or just a guy who snapped, the list goes on.

There is no telling right now what is motivation is, sure we can speculate on the facts that are so far available but they are so thin its impossible to draw any accurate conclusions.

As such any debate about his motives is mute, saying he done this because he was some right wing nut or a ISIS operative is just as valid as saying he done it because he had a deep hate of country music!

Does this guy being involved with ISIS make the actions any more or less repugnant?
Would his involvement with ISIS have made it illegal for him to purchase firearms?
Will we be more at war with ISIS now?

No, it won't be less repugnant, but it would make the incident more understandable. When people just wave their hands and say "He's nuts" or "He snapped", that's not an answer. That's intellectual laziness that is used to avoid the effort required to to understand what happened.

I disagree with the "understandable" aspect.
A senior citizen recently converting to a radical islamic sect is no more understandable than a senior citizen joining charlie mansons cult.
I submit it is lazy to lump this in with ISIS.
Finding the actual reason will be difficult from what I have read about the incident.
Using this as a crowbar to further fund the unending war in euroasia is the norm these days is it not?

ISIS Did Claim Responsibility.

Do they claim responsibility with every mass shooting or bombing in the world?

The point here is that the truth is important mate.

The truth has always been important.

The reason our world is in the state that it's in is because the truth has become a casualty to power.

The truth is important.
Were the truth known there would be no neverending war in eurasia at this moment.
Using this incident to further that war is far far from the truth.

The security guard for Mandalay is saying that there's no way the bellman wouldn't have noticed one senior citizen carrying up multiple incredibly heavy gun gases.

Come on guys.

We can use a bit of logic here.

The media isn't reporting it, of course, but Mandalay has some of the tightest security around.

There are thousands of cameras in every casino.

If you're going to argue, don't fight the obvious.

Are you telling us not to speculate?

Seriously?

Hashing theories, bringing in new info no matter how speculative, going over bits of evidence, reading and theorizing....

This is what we do here.

And that is how crimes are solved all over the world by law enforcement.

Where am I? Am I not at a conspiracy site?

Why would the staff care? In one of the other threads we had a user mention how they had gone to Vegas working on a case as a paralegal. When they arrived they had tons of suitcases and boxes with more that showed up after their arrival. The hotel didn't bat any eye.

This is Vegas. People are always coming in for conferences and conventions. And let's not forget that Paddock was a valued guest. If he felt the need to have 10 suitcases the hotel isn't going to do anything to stop him.

I am not so sure that they do claim responsibility for everything.
I have seen news stories that said they rarely double and triple down with responsibility claims like they have done with this event.
My question is, if the authorities know he was ISIS, why would they suppress that?
Are we getting double talked here by everyone?
Everyone knows that Trump has said he wants to destroy ISIS fast but if this was ISIS motivated, are they suppressing it because they don't want him to look bad for not doing more? After all, it is the worse mass shooting in modern history.
I don't know....I think if it is ISIS, the Leftist MSM would blame Trump for not doing more, just like they blame him for everything else.

ISIS has been claiming he was a part of their group since day 1.

When the US has sold guns and ammo to these groups in the past, how do they make the deal happen and where and who do they use to make the deal? If he is a part of their group it would then make sense why he had so many guns on him and at his other residence.

The above paragraph assumes the United States has sold arms to terrorist groups. Trump himself has accused his own countries leaders for doing so... which makes the claim even more suspicious.

Question remains valid . Why did he have sooooo many guns?

I am not telling you to do anything.

I am just pointing out that with so little information on his potential motive, while you can speculate all you want, ultimately its pretty pointless.

ATS has long since stopped being a conspiracy site.

I'm hoping that ISIS was behind the shooting.

This would give the U.S. greater resolve in removing that terrorist organization from the planet, eliminating ISIS recruitment of Americans for future attacks.

Otherwise, if Paddock was just mentally troubled millionaire with no sponsor/trainer, there are millions of citizens who fit his profile.
