Whenever you think of them (let alone see them!) you get sunshine in your belly.

That's been my thang for years.

But what about when your partner 'smells' better than anyone ever before? What if you are addicted to that smell? Intoxicated by it?

That's my 2nd rule of thumb to recognising love.

What's your thang?

ETA that's the 1st time I've ever written the word thang, don't ask why. True story

When I am totally comfortable with them and just hang with them all the time.

We have been living together for 3 years and got married a few months ago.

Not one single argument yet.

Dunno really...don't think I've ever been in love sad but true...hmm come to think of it...don't think I've ever been loved either! Gawd I'm clearly just too weird or....just above all that nonsense hehe
(wouldn't mind giving it a bash though just for research purposes obviously)

I think the OP nailed it.
I've been in love with 4 women in my life, all different but equally beautiful deep 'in' love.

I don't think I have ever met that person, and at my age I guess if it hasn't happened yet, it won't.

I have and do love many people, but I have never had that kind of overwhelming romantic love. It is likely completely on my part, as I am not a very trusting person when it comes to romantic love, and by the time I was ready to let down all my guards, it always proved to be not the wisest thing to do.

My plate ranneth over when I was young and I had way too much baggage to ask anyone to take on the responsibilities that I volunteered to shoulder. I never wanted to place someone in the position of having to make me choose between them and my choice of responsibilities, so I settled for strong friendships and embers, rather than the hot burning love.

Do I regret it? No. I guess you can't miss what you can't measure.

A good philosophical outlook.
That truly and deeply, absolutely head over heels love is indescribably amazing though.
The OP really nailed it.

I may have lost count of how many people I've enjoyed recreational sex with, but being 'in love' is 4 times. Varying years of absolutely beautiful 'in love' time.

I was in love once, it didn't end well for me.

So.. for me to love again might be a tall order.

I'm similar but maybe different reasons.
Someone needs to make me go 'Wow!' inside for me to know, and I'll know, that is certain.

I could easily choose a 'love' relationship out of my current female friends, but 'in love' is massively different.

You never know in life when you might meet that special person. Age is timeless. You might be somewhere and boom that "special person" just appears.

Life works in mysterious ways.

I hope you find that special person.

When it happens again, you won't have a say in the matter.
