Reality seems to be a kind of spectrum that goes everywhere from personally experiencing something in the physical world (which is still filtered and distorted by our nervous system), all the way to the "reality" of an idea or concept in our minds. We try to get a handle on it by consensus -- if we can get most people to agree that something is real, that makes us more confident that it's not just our crazy brains playing tricks on us. But because of our perceptual and intellectual limitations, even a consensus isn't foolproof in deciding what is real and what is not.

But I think there is a point at which reality stops, and that's when something is beyond our perceptions and our comprehension. And when we die, our little chunk of the holographic universe is pulled back out of reality, and because the universe can't exist without all its pieces (that's what makes it a "universe" in the first place), it collapses into "nothingness," beyond all words to describe.

Still, some crazy life forms, even here, so who knows what there could be elsewhere!

They will have a difficult time with noticing alien life. I know this from much Experience! There is life in the atmosphere that seem to be living plasma like beings. The big problem really is they use mimicry to go unnoticed or as a camouflage! Mimicking objects like balloons and bags sometimes when close to predators (humans). They leave clear signs behind but by simply adding a tether they will become balloons! You can confirm this yourself by using mirror signalling on a clear blue sky. You flash the sky they will flash back! Some days you could see upto 50 objects responding to mirror signalling and interacting with you. Very amazing to wintess myself and others document this phenomena almost daily! Think of the mimickery octopus in the ocean it can chance shape! so there's no reason that plasma like life in the sky could not do the same.
