I just had a horrible thought. Do y'all talk this way about us behind our backs?

We try to keep it light

Unfortunately we're not always able to do that.

Oh! Have I said too much?

No, don't hold back.

Just let it all flow out of you.

Yes let it flow, you don't want it to be late.

Uterus should know better.

Ha! See it's funny here, for all to giggle over, but in RL, you say

"I'm so sorry. Can I get you a Bloody Mary and a sammich?
Tea and Tylenol?
Coffee and croissant?
Cigarette and a blindfold?

Wine sounds good...but, for some reason, I'm craving a Bloody Mary.

I bled to death six days a month. The pain was excruciating. I didn't know I had endometriosis for decades. When I was a young woman we gutted it out. We didn't take medication for pain and bloating.

To me, this is wonderful news for Italian women. Ever so slowly we are making progress.

You men are going to scoff....but i don't disagree with this (based on the things I've seen in my own life among people I love). Especially jobs that require lots of standing.

As an employer, it would pain me to see us have to accrue that kind of liability each month. As a human, i'd like to think most employers aren't jerks about these things and wouldn't need to have a law to make them act decent.

There is a reason FMLA was created.

Been there, done that -- my daughter too

I just read recently that it is commonly misdiagnosed or undiagnosed, especially because it really requires a Laparoscopy or surgery. Pelvic exams and ultrasounds cannot detect most cases. And it can be absolutely debilitating.

I'm glad you spoke in past tense -- so hopefully it's behind you now. I'll be happy for that!

I know y'all are going to shoot me for pointing this out, but we ladies want to know why there is a so-called pay gap ...

We take off lots of time to have kids, lots of time to deal with our kids, and now we want up to three days every month to deal with our cycles too?

And that's not counting the standard time off package our male counterparts are getting.

Let's be real. We aren't going the same work because we aren't there as much. And no, I am not complaining.

This thread.... oh THIS THREAD!!! I'm laughing and annoyed at the same time ... ah, just like a woman.

Ok, so periods can hurt and absolutely suck. The truth is that if a woman needs time off for her period, she should take it. No one wants to be around us if we are bent over on a heating pad and crying.

But why not just offer generous sick leave that applies to anyone that needs it for any reason?

If women want equal pay it seems kinda shady to say we all need 3 days off a month due to our cycle. I'll go ahead and duck now.
