He shouldn't have done it, I absolutely agree. The clickbait title makes it seem like Hannity pulled a gun on a co-worker in a fit of rage

He might as well have.

He violated the 1st rule. Plain and simple.

His actions are much worse than a thread title you find to be tabloid-ish.

If I want tabloid BS, I'll head to my local supermarket checkout stand and read about what celebrity was abducted by aliens.

The OP has a notorious history of clickbait threads, which I got drawn into again (sigh...) and I simply made a comment that and unloaded gun never killed anyone, well unless used as a bludgeoning device.

My gripe was more about the tabloid-esque style of the thread. I genuinely thought I was clicking on an OP that was going to show me Hannity pulled a gun in a fit of rage. Instead I got this.

Sensationalism in media is an issue whether you agree or not. That was my gripe in this thread from the start. Sorry I replied to you.

The OP is biased and partisan, but even biased and partisan people can be right every blue moon.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I'm not saying he isn't. It's the delivery of it that irks me. Had the title been something like "Hannity breaks the 1st rule in gun ownership" I would have looked and not commented. But no, it had to go with buzzwords and sensationalism. So therefore I commented.

A decision I now regret.

Something like this should be sensationalized.

A Right-Wing hero such as Hannity has been trained since age 11, but lacks the basic understanding to not point a firearm, loaded or not, at another human being and a #head Leftist like me has to point out how this is wrong?

This is just more proof that validates what I have said for years. The Right has no place in claiming the 2nd amendment as their own, as the majority of them are just as clueless as any other group of people.

I've seen people go off on rants based on titles alone. I think that is part of the point of Ante's choice of titles.

And while you are technically correct, it still goes against the principles of gun safety.

The left wing wouldn't know a thing about gun safety if it shot them in the butt, as this chart amply shows.

While the title of the thread is clickbait... the reality of the story is pretty damning. You don't point guns at a target you do not intent to shoot.

It's alarming enough to deserve the thread title. Hannity did a thing which is absurd. It was not safe. It cannot be excused. It's not like it somehow changes it if he did it in a fit of rage. You do not point a gun at anybody who is not a threat to your person. Ever.

I am pro-gun, this behavior is the kind of thing that makes pro-gun people look bad if it happened as reported.

I personally prefer honest and unbiased when it comes to reporting.

The same point would have come across without a clickbait title, and I would have been in agreeance with it 100% (which I am in 100% agreeance with the context).

You see what sensationalism does?

Something like this should be sensationalized.

Nothing in journalism should be sensationalized. It creates divide. We agree on the principle of the thread, but yet here we are arguing. I wonder why?

Rights and freedoms are never partisan.

The only thing partisan about rights are the bastards that try to remove them.

Hannity doesn't help the idea that we should have a 2nd Amendment.

Firearms are allowed in NYC, if you part of the elite. Many celebrities and politicians have permits. Any regular slob can't get them, some lives are more valuable then other in NYCa reply to: ColdWisdom

No, any gun owner worth their salt would not do it full stop.

Say someone walks in or witnesses such an action, from their perspective a person has a weapon drawn upon another person.

Doesn't matter if it's loaded or done in fun. It's idiotic and could create a deadly situation.

I agree. For some reason me saying that over and over doesn't come across that way though.

Hannity was an idiot for doing it. I agree.

I don't like the way this information was presented.

Not the brightest of moves on the part of Hannity, that's a fact.

Rule #1-- Guns are not toys, treat them as loaded at all times. Or as my Grand dad said so eloquently, "If I see you playing around with that weapon, you will wish you'd never been born." Always practice "SAFETY FIRST". ...and second. and third.

The delivery of this could have been a tad bit less, oh I don't know, partisan?? But that's asking much these days apparently from all sides of any issue.

Making up for Rachel Maddow?

Is your last name Maddow.

You lot should just nominate one person to do the talking, in the interest of efficiency. Though this bit here deserves a little individual ridicule:

What does a light have to do with gun safety?

You understand how laser sights work correct? Assuming it wasn't installed by a half starved ebola-infected monkey with a traumatic head injury, the little red dot appears roughly in the same area as the bullet is expected to hit the intended target.

In other words, if the dot was on Williams, that means that the gun... wait for it... was *gasp* pointed at Williams! (I know, your mind is blown!
)

Dude(dudette?) Why are you even trying. There are some people who apparently just do not possess any logic or reasoning skills.

Of course "Trained in firearm safety since 11 Hannity" violated rule numero uno by pointing a gun at someone. Loaded or unloaded, it does not matter. YOU NEVER POINT A FIREARM AT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING UNLESS S/HE IS YOUR INTENDED TARGET. Simple as that. Either he's a liar with regard to his firearm safety training or he's a hypocrite. Seriously. That is the first thing that is pounded into someone's head before they are ever able to lay a finger on a gun. Or at least it should be.

And WTF does this have to do with Rachel Maddow other than she is also an idiot and/or raving lunatic?!?

I should also post a disclaimer lest I be labeled a "libtard" or "gun grabber" as everything on ATS these days seems to boil down to political affiliation. I've never been a fan of either Obama or Hillary. Somehow(?!?!) I'm even less of a fan of Trump and the circus he's now turned out nation into as well as the damage he has inflicted upon the credibility of not only his office but also the entire country.(Not like there's been too much credibility since at least LBJ but c'mon man!) Also I am a staunch supporter of the 2nd.

Other than that enjoy your day.
