Who do you hate some people for being "famous" and why?

I stated my feelings for Paris Hilton on another thread, and I wonder why some of you hate other celebrities and other "minor" ones? Why?

Do they look ugly(Hilary Duff)? Is it how they act(Ashton C. from "That 70's show" dating Demi Moore to boost his profile/career in Hollywood)? Is it how a demographic reacts to them ( Teenagers/heiress' acting like Paris Hilton/ South Park Episode and "The simple life" series)? Is it how different parts of their fandom acts(Britney Spears and older male fans)to them? Is it the whole idea of "Celebrity"=gods/saints as a public control device(Old religions re-released by the media in different packaging.)? Is it what good or bad qualities the media playsup or downplays(George B. Jr. v. John Kerry)? And one small question, am I the only to read John Skurposki's book "Symbol and Theory"?

Let me know, you can have as many celebrities as you want that you hate that you need to make your point.

I don't like Paris Hilton either, but not because of her celebrity status. I dislike her because she obviously does not try to use her brain. Then again, she has no reason to - she has her life made. She can be as dingy as she wants to be without much to lose. Stupid celebrities are not really to blame, but the fact that people drool and love to idolize stupidity. Paris being a celebrity is a reflection of what society wants. If society hated her, she would be lurking in the shadows without much fanfare.

A celebrity is someone famous for being well known.

Why hate them? In many cases it could be more appropriate to pity, not envy them.

Anna Nicole Smith seems to top Paris Hilton on the dimensions that cause you to be disparaging.

Why, we may even have celebrities in our midst...

I ment more along the lines of they shouldn't be promoted because of bad morality, yet are still being promoted because of money.

I just don't like Ashton Cutckor, because he picks on easy to pick on celebrities, he wouldn't punk Ozzy or Marylin Mason, because he would have a ton of hexs on his behind.

i hate famous people because i'm not famous. what other reason is there? they most often times have more money than i do so i hate them for that also. i also hate them because they may get banged more than i do. i hate that for that also.

I dont like those famouse people because they think that just because theyre in movies that they know everything about politics and the world

They don't claim to know everything about politics, but they try to get their younger sets of fans involved. Btw did anyone miss me.
My computer had 6 viruses from screensavers I downloaded. But now I'm on another PC.

I don't hate anyone for being paid more than I believe they are worth, I just think people's priorities are screwed.

Why is a footballer or actor paid more than a cardiologist for example ?

i dont hate ppl because their famous, i just dont like the fact that they try to impose their priorities on me or others... like Paris Hilton should realize that her starved look can take other young girls to anorexia or bulemia, not everyone can be as thin as she is, but she promotes that kind of style... im not saying she should gain weight...lol... but its hard for kids to be themselves when they have all these "stars" in front of their eyes night & day ...

Why would kids would like to go to school, when you can go to coledge and graduate just by playng B-Ball or Fooball??? why burn your brains beeing a doctor when you can be a millionaire tossing a ball??? or making nasty rhymes....???

also i really cant stand when stars scream and whine about how hard it is to be a millionaire... if it is that bad why dont they give their money away ??? ill take their "pain" any time ...lol

BSB(Backstreet Boys) would stop the whole I'm a celeb. now I can pretend "I'm the "aplha male" thing"(.i.e. BIG-HUGE EGO, ALCOHOL, DRUGS, LOOSE WOMEN, PROMOTING ESCAPISM) through these things indirectly by the media, I mean it's so hypocritical, especially if you hear Nick Carter's song "Forever Rebel" or at least check out the lyrics: if you hate pop music it will at least get you to think differently about me and them. Their alot smarter than ppl give them or me for that matter credit for. All because I'm perky and blonde and all because their cute and have the whole typical bandwagon guy thing going.

But that's beside the point, I'm just tried of hollywood overdoing sterotypes, they do it in everything short of Buffy, Xena, and Mariah Carey, I'm out of good examples. Plus the promotion of 3 things:
A. Follow authoritative orders without questions or big punishment; b/c the govt. and entertainment industries LOVE YOU AND CARE ABOUT YOU.

B. Escape problems and knowleadge though activities that can possibly hurt you physically or mentally/emotionally or whine and complain till things gets better(B/C THE GOVT. AND ENERTAINMENT INDUSTRERIES LOVE YOU AND WANT TO TAKE CARE OF YOU.)

C. BUY AND NEVER ASK HOW WE MADE YOU BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND $$$$$$$ TO GET A COLLEGE DEGREE AND LEGALLY BE ALLOWED TO FIND OUT.

As you can tell I just show that way of thinking my middle finger.

P.S. I sited Mariah Carey(b/c techinaly she is a "black" woman; even though she looks "white").

I have a big issue with celebrities becuase dispite their bloated bank accounts they want to act "down to earth" and "just like everyone else" but then when they screw up and land in legal water they pull out all the stops to get off the hook and illustrate just how different they really are.

I find it insulting for them to act like they know anything about the real world; about those of us who actually work and earn our the hard way. Anyone with 1/8th of a brain can see their antics of trying to act down to earth is just a clever marketing pitch to try and help the normal working crowd relate to them, when how can someone struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food in their stomach ever hope to relate to an airbrushed celeb with gold on their roofs and rims on their Escalade that could pay a normal persons rent for half the year? Probably the worst example of this the show with the one Hilton sister where they pretend to do ordinary jobs (I have never seen it, nor will I ever mentally degrade myself by doing so); the show is basically a slap in the face of the working class normal people saying "look at how we stoop to the levels you do every day, adore us for pretending to be like you." What utter crap!

But hey, its all good cause thats the capitalist way, cant have any pride in that working class stiff, far too socialist for this country...

I also hate the way our culture is so obbessed with celebritys and what they think and do.

But I understand ya' if you hate BSB(Backstreet Boys), that's fine. But I think the whole social exsistance of "Celebrities" is more or less destroying American Morality in general(heck they did a joke in the Disney movie "Mulan" about it.), and this well Ms. Celeb so & so gets these free (Insert Product being promoted) from (super-duper duper expensive store) for the whole season. The same is true of male celebs and video games and whatever else they like.

I just think it's just another way for the MEGA-MEGA rich to control ppl.
