The Billions is Iranian money and revenue that will be freed up after the sanction is lifted..

I thought you didn't understand their references.

That is my understanding as well. It is still a financial motivator to play nice. I have heard a lot of folks trying to paint it as 1 billion of US tax payers dollars and I believe that is simply not the case.

Point is that it is not American tax payer money. It is Iranian money that we allow to go back to them.

Its not US money, its BILLIONS of Iranian revenue. It is a good plan, the people will start seeing a benefit and they will associate it with moderation as opposed to extremism.

OK... I knew it was "frozen money"... still... I see it as a ransom deal, not so much diplomacy...

Diplomacy would bring home Robert Levinson who was sacrificed by the gov't who he served...

Supposedly Iran is going to look again to see if they have him...

Qatar and Saudi Arabia need to put some skin in the game....

actually it was 400 million of Iran's money, and 1.3 billion in interest. I am a little hesitant on justifying the interest payment.

I see it as great diplomacy. Iran had no option but to give our soldiers back, even if it stuck in their crawl.

The lifting of sanctions deal was signed prior to the incident which is why I don't see it that way.

Levinson was a CIA contractor that should not have been where he was.

The government that he served put him in that position and it reinforces the idea that we need to change how we interact with foreign nations. Should we allow the CIA to do what they have done since they set the standard in Iran in 1953?

Wow does Hillary expect anyone to believe it was Assad that killed 250k of his people? That number were mostly victims to Saudi funded Isis, with Cia and Mossad logistical support. Shame you Bernie, perpetuating the chemical attack myth. People still peddle this??

Oh yeah. It's ransom money. American hostage-taking in the M.E. just got more lucrative.
How many more Americans were just taken hostage in Iraq today?

I love Bernie's ME policy strategy. Daesh, can't be ignored because they are reaching out with some reception to people in the US. How we got to that point aside, though it is vital to stop repeating the mistakes of the past. Denying Daesh Islamic legitimacy is vital for the psychological war that is won with perceived, rightly so, Western, particularly American, hatred of Islam.

We need both an ability to work with Islamic countries to stop extremists in their quest for control, which they use brutal violence and murder to obtain and to stop demonizing Muslims and using hate and fear as a method to justify running roughshod through the ME.

I can just see that situation room during Benghazi...

"let's blame it on a video" Clinton

"Your shyting me?" Obama

"I know the folks, and they fall for anything, we can arrest that guy and sweep this under the rug" Clinton

"I'm outta here" Petraeus

"You sure this will work?" Jarrett

"Look at social media, we can make this virus!" Clinton

(chuckles in the room)

"who's going on the Sunday talk shows?" Obama

"Rice, she needs some facetime" Jarrett

"done deal" Clinton
