Honestly to me the ideologies of communism suits my taste. I like the all for the people idea. But i also know that in history communism failed, why though?
Lets brainstorm the idea shall we?

Imagine a small city with 5000 people. Imagine there would be supervisors for the work to be done. Each person has to work for at least 5 hours minimum or 6 hours maximum ( within these ranges). Everyone would be paid the same no matter what work they do. If a person doesnt work these hours they would not be paid. And also it is put in place that harder jobs to do such as building houses, etc would be paid more. Essentially a fully communism system with bits of Capitilist ideology ( ie paying more for harder jobs).
Would this work?

Also I love the idea that
1. Everybody is treated equal
2. People would have to work together
3. People would have to give out of their hearts to the less fortunate

Its seems like utopia doesnt it? But i know in history it is told that communism doesnt work. Does anyone want to tell me why?

Because people like myself will not let a select few determine what my cause and purpose is.

So that is why the soviet union collapsed is it?

Because of your own personal belief system?

Well I never knew that, thanks for sharing.

The simple answer is greed.

People always want more than they have, even if what they have is enough to survive.

That's why capitalism has been so successful in terms of uptake.

There were lack of " EVERYTHING". When paycheck were solid people were slacking in their workplaces and not being very productive.. hours used for finding simple item which has been lost in working place etc. Work ethic was not that good.
Corruption and status differences. While Elite were corrupted and "thriving" working class had not much other choices to make their life better, they had few choices, either accept it or getting involved way or another into Black Markets. Soviet was not equal to everyone even the system was ment to be that way.
People want to be bosses of their own lives and has an instict of trying to make their own lives better, thriving and success ( how much depends on what one is after ) in their lives. Soviet was big huge grey mass which had many problems.

"Do you know the difference between capitalism and communism?
Capitalism is about the exploitation of man by man.
In communism, it's the other way round."

Communism failed because the methods it adopted were not successful in achieving the worthy ends it was claiming.
For one thing, the system demonstrated that central direction of the economy, through control of production and prices, is not effective in delivering food and goods to the people. So in practice, the good things in life were reserved for the elite.

And that was the other problem. The attempt to design an "equal society" did not make people equal. Instead it created a new elite in the form of the communist party and especially the aristocracy of the communist party, the so-called "nomenklatura". That is why there was so much popular hostility expressed towards the communist party when it was finally abolished after the August coup attempt.

In brief, communism fell
a) Because it did not work
b) Because the people hated it.

Well I didn't topple the soviet union did I? I never had a freaking part of it.

A question was asked, "why wouldn't communism work"

Because hell no, I personally will not let a few decide what and where I'm best.

To answer the question ... Communism failed for lack of money
The cold war was vacuuming cash from the coffers of Russia, USA and the UK, basically a financial race to the death.

Communism failed, and will continue to fail, because like in all autocratic/dictatorial forms of government personal, social and civil liberties are repressed. The idyll that some people want to achieve - equality for all, and all that - just does not work because human beings are individuals and not robots.

The Soviet Union's failure was due to myriad reasons, not least the unwillingness and pressure from those nations that had been occupied and oppressed for decades under a communist dictatorship.

I thankfully live in a country with faults admittedly, but where I am free to do pretty much anything I like, including living in a community as described by the OP.

Edit to add that the two largest countries that were purportedly "communist" - the Soviet Union and China - were also countries that suffered horrendous death counts from famine, oppression, genocide, doctrinal stupidity and just plain old brutality.

When the nail making company is told it must make one million nails per month, the easiest way is to make one inch nails, the construction industry uses four to six in nails, tough, your house will just have to fall down.
The USSR collapsed trying to keep up with American arms spending, the USSR bankrupted itself.

Communism fails because you can only take so many ones for the team before you start to resent it.

I think communism doesn't work in the modern day and hasn't worked because of people designation work onto others. We all have a passion and something that were good at doing or want to learn about. In a true communist society, everyone has their Passion that would fulfill a niche. Ideally, no one would feel like their working and everything needed to be done would get done.
How politics and nations portray communism is not the communism that Marx wrote of.

Communism doesn't work because the state owns everything and people don't see any value in working harder, that and greed of those in charge.
Socialism has many benefits, sadly those in charge reaped all the benefits, people
Capitalism will fail for the same reason

Afghanistan played a major role as well.

Communism failed because its not a good government system. People desire to improve their state of being to strive to do more. You just cant do that in the communist government. If it would have been a religious communism it may have worked but those governments were all about suppression of freedom and living in a society where you had no freedom of expression or free will. If the state thought you were a troublemaker or you didnt like the way things were they killed you or imprisoned you. Life was oppressive and sad. How would you like it if you were stuck in a job you didnt want your whole life with no room for improvement, no matter how hard you worked. It sucked. Why have a work ethic when you will never improve your status, reputation or life? Control control control.

No. Because the first thing I would do is shoot all the 'supervisors'.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

The town co-operative does not distribute profits: any surplus is reinvested to create more jobs. Everyone in the co-op earns the same salary, €47 (£40) a day for six and a half hours of work: it may not sound like a lot, but it's more than double the Spanish minimum wage.

Spain's communist model village

So yeah, yes indeed. It would work. It does in Andalusia, though.

Because all of the above was a lie.

1)The state was Atheist and iron willed about it.
2) People were reduced to a function
3) People were forced to work together.
4) Those who disagreed with the system were considered enemies of the state and exiled or executed.
5) There was no wealth because all of society was dragged down to the lowest common denominator, while those in power lived in absolute luxury.
6) To keep the lie going, everyone spied on everyone and reported on each other.

But beyond that , yeah communism was great
