This school put "America Pride Day" up for a vote to the student body and the students themselves...by a ratio or 2 to 1 voted against not having "America Pride Day"..
The school activities director just speculated that they might have voted that way because some people felt excluded.
The students themselves decided to nix it.
"America Pride Day" came in 3rd amongst students..."College Day" wearing apparel of a College you would like to go to came in first.

Stupidity on both sides of the issue.
First off, who cares if they have an "America day" at the school? This is America.
Also, who cares about "America day" to begin with? It perpetuates an ultra-nationalist mentality that I find to be quite dangerous.
What makes America day "ultra nationalist"? Do you feel the same about cinco de mayo? I'm guessing you have some rationalization for why that's completely different.

Protecting the minority from the majority, for all intents and purposes, is what our Constitution does, yet so many on this site completely miss that as they run their thoughtless pro-Amerika ideology.
Just say that some many brains are in skulls but so few are used for thought.

I just want to know why people feel bothered or upset about groups having a pride day this, or history month that?
Who cares? I mean it's just some kind of self-admiration for them and people like themselves. Why does it matter in the big scheme of things or bother people?
What is more interesting to me is groups taking stories out of context for culture war purposes.

But for Culture war purposes...ya gotta spin a story like it is the Socialist Anti-American education system vs Patriotic Youth!!
When the Patriotic Youth...decided to not have "America Pride Day"
The BS gets exhausting....

Yes, I put this in the political forum. There are not enough words that I can express my extreme disgust with this principal. I hope he is fired immediately.
Students at a Wyoming high school took matters into their own hands last week by festooning themselves in the colors of the American flag after the principal and an assistant principal canceled “America Pride Day” over concerns that some immigrant students could feel sad and left out.

If they allow
anyone and everyone
to openly celebrate
their heritage
their religion
their ideology
etc.
and have a day for
everyone who wants
one, then yes.
There would not be enough days in the year.
On a side note, what is up with your post formatting?
A lot of people skip long paragraphs.
My formatting makes it easier to read,
as you probably know the average reading level in the US is around 8th grade.
I try to make my points in highlights for the reader
who is challenged by long paragraphs.
I try to make my posts as easy to read as possible
and not above the ability of the average American reader.
Just trying to be sensitive to the fact that most people
can't or won't read real paragraphs but
will read short pithy statements,
we have been well trained by the media.
you could always make it easier on us by not posting.
True but then without me,
there is no real fun.
Just everyone patting each other on the back.
How much fun is that to participate in?
I really spice up a thread
and get the old adrenaline flowing!
No one ever agrees with me and that's
half the fun of participating in the threads!
adrenaline is more useful for getting in a fight than it is for being rational.
with that said, the less adrenaline feeding this hysteria, the better.

The fact that we even have to have this discussion as a country shows just how far left the leftist agitators have taken our country.
Go kids!!!!! I also put my hand over my heart for the national anthem every Saturday night. You BETCHA!!!!!
was not referring only to "America day" in and of itself. I find the entire notion of ultra-patriotism, American exceptionalism
yah perfect liberal talking points.
Downill slide since the ultra radical SDS got flower children and "red diaper doper babies" to boycott our fighting the communist viet cong.

That also goes to show how deep and effective the leftist NEA and values clarification has gone in indoctrinating our youth against their own country and their parents beliefs. After all, that is what values clarification is for and always was.
If even a handful of kids revolted, there's still hope.
Just because a majority were too brainwashed or had parents from different countries doesn't mean they are right.
The point of a representative Republic is to stop mob rule from destroying valuable principles and mores.
I'm a socialist, thank you very much. Liberals are "lite-Republicans". Not my cup of tea.
Awwwwwww, does the majority not think the way you think they should?

I have Aquarius rising so I'm really not concerned that the majority doesn't agree with my worldview, except when the majority is being steered toward anti-Americanism and various modes of radicalism causing a steep decline in "American exceptionalism" and the Founding principles.
My point is that the majority isn't always right, as history has been wont to show us.

I know you don't care Annee. The only sign more self-absorbed than Scorpio is Aries.
