The Trumpster has my vote for one reason, he don't talk like a politician he says what's on his mind and if offends you so what get over it, Before you critics complain, how many time in your life you would like to speak your mind but don't. After living through 9 sitting presidents I think I am tired of the Political correct speeches.

Hillary....I want someone who knows how to play the game, the entire republican-controlled congress will be playing. she has been through the crap hole for years with all the republican "scandal" and "gate" drama queens....you know, I think there should be a democratic "yin" for the republican's "yang".....I think there should be hundreds of organizations calling republican politicians thugs, traitors, murderers, criminals, knuckle-dragging slopped-headed Neanderthals....and have thousands of individual radio stations, hundreds of publications, network talking heads, saying those same things (in different rhetorical style, of course) for years and years, day after day.....yeh know, juuuust to get a little taste of it....

Trumps chances are as good as Ross Perot's were. TPTB will make sure to threaten someone the Don holds dear to force him out. It has already been decided who will be the next POTUS and it ain't gonna be the most popular candidate of us useless eaters.

Sorry to be so negative it's just the way it is.

I stand with Rand.

After the Fed's decision this morning and as the economy begins to crumble I think he will begin to pick up momentum. Much like his father in 08.

I still don't understand why people would want to vote in a man who has bankrupted his business ventures 4 times...

The electoral vote count by some poll estimates has Hilary winning
I personally would say anyone of the guys and girls who were on stage during the last republican debate would be better than what we have now or will get with Hilary..

Could it be true if we get a republican for POTUS that the darn tax system gets reformed... Honestly without jobs and manufacturing (companies leaving because of labor cost and corporate taxes at 35 to 39%) the country is in the toilet bowl just after a major flush and is circling to where all the crap goes..

If Hilary gets in then well what can anyone say .... Bernie is a nice socialist and as all socialist will spend everyone's money until that too runs out. Many countries have been there and done that; they have the old tattered tee shirt to prove it (could not afford a new one).. ?

Maybe Bill can be secretary of state and give China a few of the states secrets he forgot to give them last time and they (china) missed on their last cyber attack..

Maybe little Kim Un-ding dong will nuke us the first day during the swearing in ceremony.... but he would be stupid if he did for he will never have better friends in the White House than "what difference does it make" Hilary or depends on the meaning of "Is" is Bill IMO. Look at the bright side 4 years of inept bungling by those who invented the bungle bungle dance..There will always be something to post and discuss !

As once again the cat jumps without a parachute

If I HAD to choose a republican? Carson.

If I had to chose (mine would be the write in alternative) "Stephen Colbert" as poster boy narcissistic republican with a sense of humor [conservatives are forced to hone the craft and develop a better surgical "sense" of humor; as liberals (vexing) continue to refuse to die laughing].

Donald Trump.

I believe he is the only one that can fix our economy. He has the background and intelligence to get the job done. Our economy is going in a dangerous direction, and I like his ideas about what needs to be done to change that direction.

Regarding foreign relations, terrorism, etc - he already knows how to negotiate, or he would not be where he is. He is a strong person, and will not be bullied. And he is smart enough to form a smart team to keep him informed on all the details about which he might not have experience.

I like his candor. He says what he means, not what is popular or politically correct. People who talk only to please others are not being honest.

Donald Trump will stop sending billions of dollars all over the world to countries whose leaders hate us, but are brown-nosing, just to keep the gravy train coming. I hate when he speaks negatively about other GOP contenders, but am elated when he calls out some of the loony dictators of the world. Plus, he said that he'd try to build a real working relationship with macho man Putin.

I liked Rubio and Fiorini best in last night's debate. Trump is a buffoon whose lack of substance is going to sink him fast. I like Jeb Bush but don't think he is going to make it. However, if I was voting for president today, Sanders would get my vote.

On the GOP side, if I had a vote, I'd pick Trump for two reasons: One, he's fun to watch, with a personality suited to his political station in life: the GOP nomination. The unsilent majority (at least majority of GOP adherents) may actually win him the nomination. It will be fun to see it play out. Second, he's probably the most beatable candidate of the major Republicans if Sanders gets the nomination, and that is distinctly possible. Sanders/Warren sure does look and feel like a winning ticket in many ways. Especially if Obama, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton all spend the full campaign season backing him. Imagine the support both Sanders and Trump would have in the general election, it will be the most interesting race since Obama vs. Palin, in terms of public support and enthusiasm.

My bet now is Sanders would win (on ATS). Trump in second because people love to see someone who belongs on a sitcom, much like how Obama belongs on a talk show, not in the presidency. 2 terms of this, and that's proof enough to me that people don't care about the REAL issues.

It used to be Rand Paul around here as the #1 choice, the last ATS poll showed that, even though he pissed a lot of people off by endorsing Romney. (myself included) But the whole constitutional, end the FED and IRS etc attitude has dramatically changed around here. The people of ATS, many of the ones who used to be Ron supporters, have become socialists who now love Bernie. It's weird and sad, but social media has won this battle against those who didn't used to be so ignorant.

I base these observations soley on what I have personally witnessed in the political arena on ATS over the last 4 years and beyond.

This thread scares me more than Trump becoming president does, and that's a lot! Granted, they all scare me.

Even though there are things I don't agree with Sanders on, I think he is the least morally bankrupt, at least as far as I can tell.

And Yes Wookiep, I was a huge Ron Paul supporter and I still believe in his message. I guess the way I see things is that Ron Paul was like a ship, Bernie Sanders is like a life raft until we either sink or get rescued.

A socialist? This country was built upon capitalistic principles. Who is going to pay for the welfare state Sanders dreams of creating, where is the bankroll once he redistributes the wealth. Socialism is a PROVEN failed ideology.

I hear that a lot but it's simply not true. Sweden, Norway, Finland, and even Canada are all socialist countries and they enjoy a higher standard of living than the US.

Look at size of the populations within each country TINY. Most enjoy a resource they can export and pay themselves dividends. Utopic. This is a huge country with 50 self governing states (under the umbrella of Federal Law that can conflict with each and every states laws). No state can be oil rich and pay its own citizens a stipend from oil proceeds. In Arizona you cannot mine your own land (mineral rights belong to AZ). This is complicated. A socialist will never get around State Laws; the Feds VS State are a clear indication of this. Look at the second amendment; ATF (federal) has no right to usurp state laws regarding the interpretation of legal gun possession. Not to expand the argument but I am curious how many middle eastern refugees will Sweden, Norway, Finland and Canada accept. As welfare states, those (as a Syrian) would be my first choice to flee to.
