Not at all, I hope since that's very early speculation that it isn't true, depending on the scale there would need to be evacuations surely? Either way, not good at all

Preliminary: 100s reportedly injured. Flammable cargo shipment exploded at port, setting off a chain reaction.

China manufactures more than "fireworks".

looks like a hydrazine rocket fuel explosion similar to the one that blew up in the US
years ago, I think it was in Arizona. I say that only because of the size and forcefulness of the explosion.
Maybe the fireworks factory was its cover. Maybe the bottle rocket plant made real rocket fuel.

LiveLeak is claiming it's a fuel depot.

Fuel Depot in China Explosion caught on video

Update 1: New report stated it started at a storage facility for volatile materials. The huge explosion is a result of chain reaction.

Approx. 23:40 China Central Time a fuel depot in the city of Tianjin, just south of Beijing, exploded. The fire ball lit up the sky and massive shockwaves caused significant damage in immediate surrounding areas.

Exactly,

Probably an Apple watch factory, trying to get rid of all the extra watches that they don't need because of the poor sales.

Not good. Hope it's not also a toxic fume scenario, that could totally ravage thousands more.

If people were not injured it might have been funny.

People did get hurt. Not funny.

Dam, that's one big explosion. Hope not many are hurt in this. It did make me jump the first time I saw it. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

What point in the video did you see that?

Is this a U.S. retaliation for the pentagon hack?

The U.S. claimed it was a Russian hack but....send a message?

That is a really naive statement. To think that the US would retaliate with military action out of the blue is absolutely insane.

Oh and to the OP, why you use RT as a source is beyond me. There are without a doubt better sources to use with more accurate and less politically influenced information.

This looks like a reverse angle to most of what's been posted, maybe across that harbor? Very loud, needless to say.

How sad for those who were in the area when that happened. The magnitude of the blast was gigantic. I am going to stayed tuned to see what they think happened.
