Chalk this up for yet another reason to not visit America on vacation.

The list of reasons is getting pretty long now.

Did they arrest the Grandma for Voyeurism?

If I go around with a 1) drone with cam on it on a Beach, or, 2) any kind of camera on a beach you can bet your buttocks I will be arresed and locked up as a sex pervert.

How come she gets away with it?

Look into this thread and find anywhere that anyone says what this couple did was ok..it is not by any means, but 15 yrs? rapists and murderers can get less time..and the prison system is fat enough with more incarcerations than any in the modern world.
I've said enough on this.

It looks like the law in America is more in line with some Sharia laws in Saudi Arabia.

Looks like America IS a society ruled by RELIGION, and has Religious influenced law.

www.cbsnews.com - The cost of a nation of incarceration...

A report by the organization, "The Price of Prisons," states that the cost of incarcerating one inmate in Fiscal 2010 was $31,307 per year. "In states like Connecticut, Washington state, New York, it's anywhere from $50,000 to $60,000," he said.

Yes - $60,000 a year. That's a teacher's salary, or a firefighter's. Our epidemic of incarceration costs us taxpayers $63.4 billion a year.

Average $31307 per year, or $2570 / month, not including court fees.

Maximum security prisons are even worse... like $80000 per year.

Court/prosecution/etc fees are also very high if it's a significant trial, like murder. In fact, the cost these fees can be greater than the total cost of all the years they stay in prison - into the millions of dollars.

The US has 5% of the world's population but 25% of its prison population.

EDIT: Some prisoners also get a form of health insurance. Not sure if this is included in the cost estimate. The Affordable Care Act passed during the Obama administration also expands coverage for prisoners.

Like it or not,you are a mammal. That is classified as an animal. As far as dominion over the animals, well you all done a bang up job on that one.

That is a man-made classification. We share similarities with animals because we all live on the same planet, but that doesn't mean we are the same. Who is the "you all" of whom you speak? Do you consider yourself something other than human?

What you are is unaware of science. You most certainly are an animal.

Your personal views on religion however are personal, no need to push them on others. And I'm not speaking for you, you're free to deny the fact we're all animals. But here we again have a religious zealot taking the "my way or the highway" approach and pushing that crap on others.

BTW, nowhere in your holy book does it say dry humping on a beach is lewd behavior.

What you might consider this:

Matthew 7:1-5

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

That is, if you're into religion and all that jazz.

No, I am most certainly not an animal. I am a person. Your personal views on that are personal, and there is no need for you to push them on others.

As for "zealot", grow up already. Someone having religious beliefs does not automatically make them a "zealot", nor does the widely shared belief that sex in public is tacky, immoral, and inappropriate. Not to mention illegal. Whine all you want; they broke the law, and I hope they spend the entire 15 years in jail for it.

On judgment, we are not told not to judge at all, but to judge righteously. I could list all of the data for you, but someone did a great job here - Should Christians Judge?

no.
just cause the law says this or that is lewd, does not mean that i think it is.
so yeah

one of them could have beat granny to death with her iphone and been given less jail time.
talk about a broken system

Your personal opinion doesn't form the law. You could try and petition to allow public sex, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for such a law to be passed.

If one can get less time for murder, then address that problem, not hte sentence they received. This point has already been addressed many times in the thread.

Seriously.. you would think it just fine for a couple to go to a McDonalds playground and have sex?

Because this is the exact same thing.. people take their kids to the beach to go play, just like they would a McDonalds playground..

This was a family beach.. same as McDonalds has a family area and playground for kids..

If you think its okay to just decide to up and be rutting animals in public in front of other people's kids, then there is something wrong here..

In the end - leave my children and the raising thereof to me, I don't let my kids watch porn.

Apparently, some people would rather condemn the system, falling on the claim that people are animals, than admit there was a problem with self-control here. Would it be rude to wish some couple would show up and go at it on their front lawns, in front of their families?

What these people did was "grinding" on the beach. I've already shown that Nobody witnessed them "having sex". Nor does the video show that. At best it could be shown that they were simulating sex.

The same "simulated sex" can be seen in almost any music video or television show.

You are more than willing to give 15 years in prison for a non violent crime which wasn't even proven in a court of law to be true.

You are completely insane to think that fits the crime. You don't give a damn about what true justice is or the concept or meaning behind "burden of proof". You think your opinion should hold more weight than actual factual evidence and have not one ounce of mercy at all. To think that 15 years in prison for simulated sex in public is just is pure insanity on par with burning women for being witches without any proof other than someone's opinion.

of course since all they did was some dry grinding its even worse.

so lets call it 30k a year to keep a person in jail.
we have 2 people facing 15 years so thats 60k per year.

so the state of florida is going to spend 900k(at least) just for incarceration.
plus however much to try the case. plus however much it will cost if one of them get tuned up in prison and end up in the infirmary and need new dentures
plus theyre lives are ruined cause theyre felons now and are on a sex offender registry.

seems like a lot of crap to me cause a few kids saw some sex(even though they didnt see any sex)

i also love how granny was so appalled but not enough to walk away with the kids and call the cops.
oh no. we gots to film that

Yeah right. If people wanted to protect their children they'd stop taking them to Religious Institutions that program them with fear, hate, racism, sexism and self righteous condemnation of others in the name of fictitious mythological gods and demons.

Seems that in today's America Torture is great, droning innocent lives is a-ok, police brutality is a good thing, ignorance means belief in fantasy and Justice is based on how someone feels or thinks or believes rather than what can be shown or proven to be true.
