The irony..... and humor.

Weapons supplies to Kiev to violate international law — self-proclaimed DPR

MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. The Foreign Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic believes that arms supplies to Ukraine would be impermissible and a violation of international law.

"We regard such intentions as violations of Article 3 of Chapter II of the International Code of Conduct on Arms Transfers," the Donetsk Republic’s Foreign Ministry said. "The article prohibits weapons supplies to the countries responsible for genocide, extra-judicial deaths, torture and keeping people in custody in violation of international human rights standards."

"The Donetsk Republic’s Foreign Ministry regards such supplies as impermissible and emphasizes its intention to demand thorough investigation of such facts by all international agencies concerned," the Donetsk News Agency says.

I read this one twice to be sure my eyes were not deceiving me. The nerve to make this comment...

This is another example of just how moronic the rebel leaders are.. For some reason the rebel leader does not seem to understand he and Russia are guilty of the very thing h is accusing Ukraine of.

Considering the way they parade prisoners in front of cameras and down streets to be beaten by locals it sure is a joke for them to talk about violations of international human rights.

I hope the separatist leaders are brought before criminal courts and punished for the way they treat prisoners.

Chill out, Obama can not be prosecuted cause he is Nobel Peace award veteran.

Of course Kiev regime is responsible for genocide in Donbass, but international laws can not be applied against USA this is unwritten law.
Also, Obama personally will never be charged with anything because this will degrade the award of Mother Teresa.

And has nothing to do with the topic / thread.

Feel free to support this claim with facts / sources please. Contrary to popular belief here in the west if you make an accusation you need to back it up.

Actually it can if its a treaty the US signed and ratified. If you are referring to the ICC then no, it has no jurisdiction as the US is not a member of it. It violates out Constitution.

And once again this has nothing to do with the article or thread topic. Please stop trying to derail this thread. If you wish to discuss your Obama comments create a new thread and go there.

That why I am trying to figure out what they are doing. Right now the only conclusion I see is they truly are that stupid.

Propaganda is just that.....this is psywar doctrine...accuse others of your own crimes loudly and with great gusto.....
It doesn't fool everybody, but repeated long enough and loud enough it causes doubt and confusion.....
The Russians are the masters at doing # like this.....

The US supplying weapons to Ukraine is a really big escalation. Of course Ukraine needs more, especially with it's rapidly expanding army. I can see lots of complaining coming really soon. However the US has shown lots of restraint and given Russia more than enough time to get out of it's neighbor.

Time to raise the costs for Russia if it wants to control Ukraine.

The US is not currently supplying lethal aid to Ukraine.

Your comments about Obama have nothing to do with the article.

Does anybody even follow International Law anymore?

If they did, Crimea would not have been invaded and once it was, the Turks technically should have got involved as under the Crimean war Peace Agreement, signed between Czarist Russia, Ottoman Turkey and Britain, should there be any change to the semi-autonomous status of crimea, then ownership of the peninsula shall revert back to ottoman Turkey.

Torturing Ukrainian soldiers in DPR is also against international laws.

So is dropping a passenger plane.

Guaranteeing Ukraines Territorial Integrity through the Budapest memorandum signed by Russia, USA, Britain, Germany in return for Ukraines Nuclear Arsenal is also another international agreement that was torn up.

Geneva Convention.....does anybody even adhere to that anymore????

We can all go into many examples Im sure.

At the end of the day, its either enforce international law or tear it up........looks like we have all gone the tear it up route, thou no one is stating it.

Holy Cow...I forgot about that past with Turkey. That would be pretty funny to hear Turkey come out and claim Crimea now. I wonder if Russia keeps Crimea's status as officially 'semi-autonomous' but under Russian control now that it wouldn't trigger the Turkish claim. Interesting point!

But yes, international law isn't worth the paper it's written on really. The Budapest agreement being a very serious one to break. Now countries have zero incentive to give up Nukes and I don't expect any country to ever give them up again after this happen to Ukraine.

Riiiight.....

And all those tanks, heavy guns and Grad launchers just grow on tree's? Not to mention the SAM systems... And don't try to convince me they all got pinched from Ukrainian stock - many models seen in the East are non-export versions of Russian hardware and even if they are not, the volume by which the rebels are fielding them would suggest that the Ukrainians kept their entire inventory in the East.

That whole "supply convoy" thing was a classic Russian use of their strategy of maskirovka. Throw in a big show of an "aid convoy" over here, with all the journalists watching, while over here, where no-one is paying attention, you can ship heavy weapons - or worse, there is good evidence rebels have been shelling their own villages and blaming it on the Government - it and more can be found here.

It's actually quite sad just how many people seem to be buying the blatant BS coming from Russia when this is all part of a tried and tested strategy they have used again and again and again.

That was my response as well...

I find it fascinating that they gave absolutely no thought to their own position, let alone Russia's, before making this statement.

Maybe a ploy to appear like they are trying to distance themselves from Russia maybe? I would love to see a reporter ask him where they are getting their weapons from.

The statement does not add up and makes no sense.

It's not like Russia has been supplying weapons to a vicious, potentially genocidal* regime in Damascus...

*The sectarian divide in Syria makes Assad's slaughter of Sunnis arguably a genocidal one. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is trying to kill every single one of them because they are in rebellion, not because they are Sunnis or Yazdis.
