I have to disagree with Canada being the most polite, at least from my own personal experience.

When I was aroun 8 years old my dad took me to see the Peace Gardens (on North Dakota and Manitoba border). We travelled up to Brandon, Manitoba to spend the following night. While my dad was in the hotel getting a room a man being pushed in a wheelchair came up to our car window and told my older brother he was going to kill his wife and kids.

After getting the room and parking, that guy in the wheelchair was alone in the parking lot yelling at us to give him a push. We didn't.

Never been back.

That's Walter. Just ignore him.

Holy crap I haven't laughed so hard at an ATS post since I signed up. Brilliant.

As for the OP, it drives me nuts when Canadians use the war of 1812 as an excuse to gloat. First of all, the British fought that war, since there was no "Canada" at the time. So technically, the Brit's burned down the white house, not Canada. Besides, in a modern conflict the U.S would wipe the floor with us.

Other than that, I enjoyed the list.

That's because the user is a fellow Canadian
We're quite funny as you know

This thread was done in good humor, unfortunately some people either:

A: Didn't realize it was a joke because it's hard to understand the context on online
B: Are the type of people who has no problem dishing out jokes but can't handle one back
C: Some other reason

I just want to point out though: As most of those Britt's stayed to colonize the land, they became Canadians. Also as someone else pointed out, Canada isn't a country, we're a colony, so we can be technically considered Britts still. Ergo, we still won and the U.S still lost.

(a Canadian beer of course)

Not much as I would like, just lots of places in Alberta and B.C. My younger sister was diagnosed at age 5 with an incurable illness and than two years later my Mom was too so we couldn't travel any more.

Not so fast skipper, you forgot the Native population whom made major problems for .....oh the city of Detroit and such.
Also lets not forget what happened to Germany when trying to take Stalingrad?
They ended up facing many long guns and a very cold climate, which cost them the war.

There is a lot of land here and once you head North your going to find lots and lots of scoped rifles and people who know how to use them.

They should attack during winter
If they think they are so much superior than us, come attack us in the winter

((Totally joking here. I'm picturing silly shenanigans happening in my head, like a U.S person stepping off the wrong part of a path and suddenly ending up in chest deep snow.))

In all seriousness though, it would be interesting to see how the U.S would do if faced with crazy amounts of snow and cold weather in the old school battle of hand to hand combat. Not the ease of pushing buttons and drone strikes. I'm not sure if they have faced that kind of situation a whole lot, I don't know much about the U.S military.

I am a proud Canadian, but I'm pretty sure the U.S would have it mopped up quickly. Provided they didn't just nuke us all and for whatever reason decided they wanted to invade, they are more than acquainted with cold weather operations, having major military bases in Alaska and all.

The only benefit Canada would have is vast amounts of uncharted wilderness. Lots of places to hide, and it would offer the perfect cover to wage a prolonged guerrilla war from. I'm not really sure why we're talking about this though, since I am personally proud to call the U.S a very close ally, and I doubt they will be invading us to get at our coveted maple syrup reserves any time soon.

Why are we dissing the US? They gave us the NFL. We gave them Celine Dion and Justin Beiber. I think THEY should be complaining.

Oh yea I forgot they could go to Alaska for training in the snow, mind you I don't know how much training they actually have had up there.

I would call the U.S citizens an ally but I don't trust the U.S government.

I'm not really sure why we're talking about this though,

It was a question that popped in my head and I asked because I'm an inquisitive person who likes to learn.

I want to visit Quebec City. I heard it's like a little Europe, which I like! I miss Europe a lot...but it will be kinda hard moving there...so Canada seems more realistic for me.

Now if Canada only had free education, I'd probably be studying there now

My Great grampa is from Bern Switzerland. Spoke French, and came here to the south west for the gold rush...I would've stayed in Switzerland even for gold!

QC is one of the most beautiful towns in Canada. Even in winter. The winter carnival starts at the end of Jan. I think. I hear it's amazing. I've only seen it in summer.

There is so many different places I'd love to visit in Canada.

I wish we had free education too.

That would be cool to have been born in Switzerland if your family hadn't moved. I know my Dad's side of the family immigrated from Germany in the late 1800's, well only one member, he came to North America for all the open lands and bought up a huge property and had a big farm. He even changed his last name to a more English sounding last name too.

I'd like to visit there in the winter time and also during the 'Just for Laughs' festival.

There are way too many places I want to visit & no money to do it. Plus some of the places I want to visit aren't safe to go to currently like Egypt & Africa.

Yeah but then I wouldn't have been born! haha

It's crazy how our families came all the way from Europe to start a better life...now we're wanting to go back for the same thing!
