Yep. Just read it on skynews!
wow... you Americans sure know how to party!
Having said that, I do feel for the students who get caught up in such things.
Whats next? Another shooting spree?

Notice how the school called in helicopters to get these kids to the hospital.
Notice how helicopters were not called at Sandy Hook.
Ponder.
What is there to ponder? There were only 2 non-fatal injuries at Sandy Hook....everyone else died. This incident had 20 non-fatal injuries.....do you suggest they pile them all in a couple or three ambulances? There was a state police helicopter on scene.
Also depends on the distance of the hospital with a helicopter to the scene. In the case of SH, the closest hospital with a chopper would have taken more time to get there and back than an ambulance did to a closer hospital that did not have access to a chopper.
In this case I would assume the injuries of some were more life threatening and the hospital with a chopper was close enough to use a chopper with a faster response time than an ambulance.edit on 4/9/14 by Vasa Croe because: (no reason given)

The fact that calling in medical helicopters is standard operating procedure with school incidents. And the only school incident that didn't have helicopters on hand was... you guessed it.

Why has CNN announced the FBI is on the scene? I was under the impression the FBI only gets involved if someone has crossed state lines...
This attack was by a sophomore from the school, so I assume he lives in the community.

The very heart of FBI operations lies in our investigations—which serve, as our mission states, “to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats and to enforce the criminal laws of the United States.” We currently have jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal law, and you can find the major ones below, grouped within our three national security priorities and our five criminal priorities.

^^^ QFT. This EXACTLY. You made my day today by being a voice of reason. Our society has become deranged.. you can see it even here on ATS. USE children's injury or deaths to argue a point. Sick, sick sick... and exactly why we are in the situation we are in as a people. Like you, I fear for the future and the "point arguers" are one reason for that fear.
I had to take a break from ATS due to the absolute ignorance and idiocy out of the most recent crop of BS thats been building here for the last 3-5 months. I figure a self imposed vacation to hold my tongue is much better than a forced one if I allow myself to become irritated and say exactly what Im thinking. Hey.. it takes work and effort to be all civil and decorum-ish.
did he point out a very obvious truth? why, yes, he did....
i too noticed that this almost immediately went to an argument about guns, even though this had nothing to do with guns...
of course it's awful that this happened, and i think any decent person sees it as being awful, and is sad and disturbed that things like this happen....
but when confronted with outright ignorance, what are we to do? refuse to deny that ignorance? that's not really an acceptable solution, now is it?
you might disagree with the "point arguers", but ignorance must be denied, wherever it rears it's ugly head....so long as that active denial of ignorance doesn't make you ignorant yourself, by way of blinding you to your surroundings......everyone here is acknowledging that this event was awful, WHILE trying to deny the ignorance of those who would seek to twist this into something it's not....
Maybe the perp use a gun to stab them to death.

When that ignorance has been displayed by the same people for a good amount of time and even after thoughtful discussion with an opinion to the contrary has only incited them to be MORE radical in their position... yep. Time to let them revel n their ignorance and be known for what and who they are.

Absolutely. We should ban knives as well!! Of course, the cafeteria would have to serve meat that was already cut up, and bread that was already buttered...but hey!
We should, of course, infringe on everyone's rights in the search for the myth called absolute security.

When things like this happen, I blame society as a whole.
WE have failed these kids.
Parents, teachers, members of community, law enforcement, government, tv, movies, music, everything and everyone.
How can you have sane, logical children when almost everything and everyone promote hate and intolerance?
WE are responsible, every single one of us. because when one fails we all fail
Wow. For this being a breaking news thread, I'm very disappointed. Guess I'll head to CNN.
Rothschilds owns all media! These are the 6 media companies that exist today. There used to be 88. These 6 all get their news from Reuters and the Associated Press. Reuters owns the AP and Rothschilds own Reuters. That means a gadzillionaire controls everything that you will read or see on TV. You can be programmed by this guy. Everything you believe, do, feel, want to buy, and want to TOLERATE is programmed into you. You are a mushroom. You live in the dark and are fed nothing but BS. www.luckinlove.com...

This is a cautionary note to anyone that has been getting most of their information from alternate sources and not the MSM.
A person that gets most information from the MSM will usually have an emotional reaction to ideas that challenge their comfortable world view. It has little to do with the validity of this or that conspiracy theory. The inability to think critically is symptomatic of the stupor that TV news, pop culture and advertising puts you in. Get used to it.

What the hell are you talking about?
The ignorance we were talking about was people using tragedies and dead kids for anti gun or whatever idiotic agendas rather than discussing the root problems in order to perhaps come to solutions to the problem.. or even define what the problem REALLY is.
Your point is? Spouting tired old "ban cutlery" arguments because it sounds "informed" ??

Disgusting, especially at a school! how can a kids life be the same ever again for them or their future children?

These things don't just happen in America. They are worldwide. They happen in areas other than a school in most places, and yes, guns/knives are NOT the problem....the people are the problem. Take away their weapons and they will just use a car to plow through a crowd....it doesn't matter what they can't use, they will find something they CAN use to cause the same amount of destruction.
