Exactly HOW do you know that injustice only happens to a few people?

WHAT YOU KNOW OF IS THE INJUTICES THAT HAVE BEEN EXPOSED - WHICH ARE FEW.

There was a woman a few months ago who complained about being stripped searched by a group of male cops (which is against the law).
This only case being expose on the news gave the courage to many other woman to come forward.

Cops aren't going to beat up someone with connections who can expose them. They target the poor and people who otherwise lack credibility.

As for you not knowing people who have been subject to abuse; you very well may know them but they choose not to share their experience with you. Let me introduce myself - now you know someone.

I had a lot happen to me in my childhood and adult life. I NEVER DISCUSS THIS WITH PEOPLE. Only my family and a few other people know.
Why? First, most people probably wouldn't believe me unless they experienced something similar. People like you find it hard to believe because you have been so brainwashed by the media and tv programs. Second, I'm afraid of retaliation - it happened before and it really terrifies me.

Well ill take your word on your alleged grievances. I did say that there are a few incidents that are completely atrocious things that have and do happen. But compared to the whole sum of the equation......it's not that bad.

And you say "connections"? As though this is a conspiracy against those who do not have these connections. Hmmmm again I do not see that as of yet.

Can I ask you a very serious question?

Are you a middle class white male, from a small town or suburb, practice a popular religion and hold normal political views?

Whether you admit it or not, I bet you never fell into one of the vulnerable groups.

Be a part of a vulnerable minority or get on the wrong side of connected person and see how fast your freedoms disappear.

The only difference between the US and other countries is that we are supposed to be free - so they have to be a little more sneaky about it.

Ask away.

I do not follow any mass organized religion as I will not and do not believe or need a "make it right" excuse on how I behave or attribute my life. Plus, I can not believe in anything so incomprehensibly ridiculous in my view! It's like those who believe in prayer.....the whole idea of praying is a contradiction of what people believe in a god!!

I am mixed race and I live in one of the largest cities in the western world. Born and bred in the city. And as for political views I am not a libertarian that is for sure.

Yes we live in a police state. You're defensiveness and denial of the facts belie the truth of the matter. We even have a new Posse Comitatus forum on ATS focused on just such issues.

Obviously you do not remember an America free of surveillance cameras and seem unaware of the national epidemic of police brutality. Perhaps you've never been to an airport where you're NOT groped or never been to NYC and been subjected to "stop and frisk."

Maybe unlawful checkpoints seem normal to you and living in a country with militarized police SWAT teams who break down doors and kill innocent people and the pets is not a "police state."

Just to make sure you understand I say again (as I've posted before) I've lived in two foreign countries that were pure dictatorship complete with military checkpoints with automatic weapons. America has become worse and much more unsafe and less free.

But hey, what do I know?

Wrong I am afraid. Remember an America without surveillance cameras? Since cameras were invented they were used to record, take pictures and monitor. Yes there was a time when this didn't happen but the population of the country was far smaller and we rode around on horses. So that argument is negated.

And your last paragraph shows your complete ineptitude of what a police state is. Lived in two foreign countries with a police state as you claim. hmmmmm sure and America is worse. I can't compete with you.....you have been brainwashed by fearmongers like Alex Jones

Ask any black person who grew up in the projects if we(the USA) are living in a police state. Per Capita the US jails more than any other country.

We are not a total police state, however there seems to be growing concern that we could go that way. There are plenty of people who are completely blind of a possible emerging police state and their only negative encounter with a law enforcement officer will be a traffic stop, those people make up the majority and are blind to the injustice system.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.
Martin Niemöller

You have now made this a race issue which is a whole other subject. IF there are more black people in jail than anywhere else...doesn't that POSSIBLY mean they have been committing more crimes that other races? Is that at all possible?? Is it??

I'm quite pleased to see that there is at least one soul in the nation who has never had a negative encounter with any type of government authority figure. I thought the breed had truly vanished.
I first witnessed it in our small town about five years ago when it happened to a friend of mine. Then, about two years ago, I met the first "dead-eyed" police officer. Last year I met Roid Roger, the state trooper. All these people are public servants and are obligated to show the public the respect an employer requires. Not only were these public servants rude, disrespectful, they were also physically threatening in a totally inappropriate manner.
I lived under martial law briefly in the late 60s and it was way less repressive than today's "norm."
I'm happy that you've never encountered these people. They are not pleasant at all. You will be shocked when it falls on you.

The police were doing their JOB!! They thought he was selling drugs!!!! What do you not get about the article you left???

This is your argument of why you "think" we are in a police state? Well I win then. Because the cops were doing what they are supposed to do. IT was found to be a mistake and they released him.

Maybe not the traditional "Police state" I think you might be correct in that regard only. But to me, a police state is a condition that happens when officials disregard laws to punish people and they do this because of their sociopathic tendencies to exert power over others..
They use their authority to exert power and control over others, even when this power was never given to them, usually to their own personal benefit, or the benefit of their group, not the civilian population, which was their sworn oath to be representing with integrity..

Looks at all the stupid judges that don't even give a crap that the constitution has Outlawed debtor prisons, but they ignore this and use a contempt of court charge to do an end run around the constitution.. These Judges deserve to be hunted down and shot. Every American should have a zero tolerance policy against officials who break their oath and violate the constitution. Who is hurt when this happens? Every American is hurt, including those that violate the constitution.

Every time someone does things like this shows us that our officials will exert police force power over us whether or not it is even allowed by law. This means there IS a police state right now, every day it is proven more than once. Every day that our president and all of his constitution violating cronies stay in their posh jobs working (just for their own profit), means that right now we are already in a police state..
Obama needs new coaches and mentors that respect right rather than wrong, then maybe we could avert a police state, but Obama wants a police state since every law, executive order(lets do an end run around congress again), but alas, all of that poor guys mentors have all been communists, (yes, real card carrying ones) * < Marxists, Socialists, And don't forget how awesome him and his appointees feel about the wonderful Chairman MAO, who created a police state and promptly got the guns, and then killed MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.. Most of the people Obama has appointed and hired are all Maoists, or Marxists, or (I think I have made my point).
OBAMA loves the idea of a police state in America. Every single Action that Obama has done comes right out of a "Police State" playbook

Obama's most trusted mentor of all, and the guy that has been behind him long before his political runs also was a mentor for some of the people that worked for none other than ADOLPH Effing Hitler.

If we aren't in one now, it won't be long..

Sorry for the long winded posts today..

Lol you are amazing. You totally ignore every one that pointed out that the things you say are not going on, are in fact going on in a small percentage. Like you said yourself, even if it is less then 1%.
And that the last time we were not under constant surveillance was when we were on horseback..? That makes sense to you..?
And then you go and tell someone else about THEIR experiences in other countries? How can you possibly speak for someone else personal experience?
You sir can not be competed with.. You have the ability to not use logic.

No one here has made any actual factual statement that we are in a police state. Just minor things here and there compared to the grand scheme of things across the entire country.

And please learn to read.... I did not tell someone else about their "experiences" in other countries...That poster made a claim which we can all do. To bolster his weak argument he said he lived in actual police states in foreign countries..and I am supposed to take his word on that? The thing is when people argue their point with no real conviction or knowing what they are talking about the use generalized nonsense like that statement. Watch to much Alex Jones

All my years and nothing has happened to me or anyone I know. I checked on that before writing the post. Amazing what mass texts can accomplish.

All I hear on here is Cops are bad, cops are brutal, cops are killers, the constitution is dead, our freedoms are gone, the police control our lives, the government want to lock us in FEMA camps......Living in a world of far fetched exaggerated stories is just bat **** crazy.

What have you said that proves we are not in a police state? Outside of saying it never happened to you, you that people are having their rights violated and being taken without due process. That alone goes against your entire post. How can you say NO ONE then at the same time say that less then 1% (Which is crazy low) are having their civil liberties violated. If it happens to one, it can happen to all

And I read just fine, yes you are suppose to believe that where he said he lived is true. That is not an outlandish claim. Why do we need to believe what you wrote is true if you are unwilling to do the same to others?

I unlike the vast majority of conspiracy nuts on here used myself as a reference and the people I know as I am familiar with myself.
So are you and the people you are familiar with the voice of our nation? Again, just cause it hasn't happened to people you know or yourself does not mean it doesn't happen

No you're definitely not. You're simply a police state apologist. Not to worry there an millions of people who parrot the same sycophantic line so you have plenty of company.

So what's you're real point? Collecting usernames for big brother? I'm sure they'll pat you on the head for your efforts. Obviously you won't open your eyes until some cop tazer's you for daring to question them.

We were riding horses back in say the 60's, 70's, 80's? Really you actually said that? Just how young are you?

Yes, I've lived in those countries and am now back home in the US. Just a fact, I was safer there than here. Never had the foreign troops show up at my house with automatic weapons or in the middle of the night like I have here. And personally I don't listen to AJ simply because he yells too much. He's right more often than not though.

In North Korea this is EVERYDAY life for the citizens. Labor camps, showing papers and ID everywhere. BEing subjected to random searches and house calls by government officals for something as little as viewing YOUTUBE.

IN China if you oppose the government in any manner you can taken away in the middle of the night and placed in a camp or worse. You must present ID everywhere and any back-chat to a gov official is warrant enough for a beating or a charge that can lanf you 60 days or more in a hard labor camp while your possessions are taken away!!

Have you lived in, or even been to these places? Do you think life only exists there as it's portrayed in the media you get channelled to you?

See: Enemies of the state.

In China, if you are in upper class, business or politics, for many years gave huge competitive advantage. Benefits all around. Accidentally kill someone, and it's covered up. Personal problems, criminal behaviour, covered up. (Do you believe none of this happens in your own country?) And the privy class, they get the full brunt of it too if they lose favour. (Think about how many political careers have been destroyed in the US when others are just as dirty.)

The types of things you are talking to happen to select groups, enemies of the state. Yes, the US has enemies of the state too. Otherwise it wouldn't have the highest prison population per capita of the entire world. Think about that for a second.

It's funny, when people hear about the unwanted groups of people in another country they say, "Dammit, those people should have rights."

But if people hear about groups which have no method of bettering themselves or are part of an unpopular movement/political ideology, and end up jail at home, people say, "Well, they should have followed the law! Damn criminals."

The system in all countries is made to favour some while persecute others. It is all about the degrees of persecution. And eventually, when you lock up enough people, some might say it appears to be a police state.

I don't think I have called it that myself but I think I can at least put it into a hypothetical for arguments sake.

Freedom of speech and petition the government where allowed.. See those lines of police? That went on for a very good whole both sides of the street... You were not allowed to cross that line or you would be arrested..(Interesting cause I live in the city.)

But, as with all things that are not police state involved like these crazy people be talking about.. We do have 1 thing...
