Yes I know this is the rant forum, but...

I hate to be the fun police, but why do interesting threads with important content always turn into a joke with you guys. It's like one huge circle jerk. I like jokes as much as the next guy but the content of the OP is no laughing matter and this thread has turned into a circus...shame.

After years of dealing with death trauma sick or dying. In a sick way all of us needed humor to get by. It beats drinking..so same rules need applied here..
It's DEBRIEFING. a way to say..hey the sky is still blue, I can breathe the air, family and friends are still here. my dogs are the most forgiving creatures on earth.

Fair enough...a lot of it is BS but there is some truth to some of it.

I only know what's in front of me.

It is right in front of you like a big fat pink elephant in your living room.

Truth is nothing more than a Ping-Pong ball played back and forth for the amusement of people I could care less about.

I am shocked, you took all that time to author what I consider to be an awesome rant on important issues and then label people who seek the truth as a group you could care less about?

That's why I put it in Rant.

I wanted to vent.

I wanted to redirect emotion.

I'd be happy to discuss deeper issues with you, but in the frame I'm in right now?

Not gonna happen!

The concept of fear exists only in the individuals' mind - resultant from exposure to real (or imaginary) events.

It should then be evident that there is indeed nothing to fear - ever - except fear itself.

Conceptualize:

1. A Soldiers job.
2. A marine diver.
3. A skydiver.
4. A racing car driver.
5. A test pilot.

and I could go on, but the point is that even those few examples instill the concept of fear in some individuals - but not others.

Resultant from ongoing exposure to same, fear is then controlled or eliminated.

It's all in the mind - period.

Oh, and I'm a frayed knot. [insert old style wink emoticon]

I'm so gonna get it for this...even in Thomas Jefferson in his time. To come here and decree that interracial marriage is awesome. Or Andrew Jackson apologizing to native Americans. ( a good friend and native American in Canada will then start exception $20 bills. )

Sorry..I can relate...though I was not in war..all I can say is I did my best to comfort the dying till they past....
But this is how you become immune and realise not to fear.
