I recently received a text message on my Iphone, the text message told me to ask siri "what is july 27, 2014?"
Siri replies, "It's Sunday July 27, 2014 (opening gates of hades)."

Here is a video of someone asking siri (If you have a Iphone try it yourself)

what do you guys think? Perhaps a leaked warning? Or just a practical joke?

I guess it goes without saying that one would have to believe in the concept of hell first before accepting the idea proposed in this message.

Oh geese...I got to get busy, it's my job to open those gates. I got to remember that date, I'll get everything prepared on the 26th.

That is my granddaughters sixteenth birthday, the day she will be driving.

That was my first thought. Either an Easter Egg or an "inside" joke between Siri programmers.

Has anyone tried asking Siri why the gates of hades will be opening on July 27th, 2014? I don't own an iPhone so I don't know
if that is too comprehensive a question for a troll-program like Siri.

Because it's a reference to the Chinese Ghost Month, when the gates of heaven and hell are opened. Ask her when the gates of hell are opening, and supposedly she'll tell you that they have been open since May 14, 2005. I don't enable Siri, and I've never tried it.

Did you try "When are the gates of hell opening?" I don't know beans about Siri.

eta:
I keep thinking I should try to learn what Siri can do, just haven't ever gotten around to it.

So I guess I should hold off making reservations for dinner and buying my wife a present since our Anniversary is July 28th. All hell is braking loose the day before.

lol

Say to siri "What is July 27" and it will say "Opening Gates of Hades"

Then you can also say "What is September 3" and it will say "Closing Gates of Hades"

August 15th is "assumption of Mary day"

There are a bunch of these "holiday" like events automatically set into our phones. It's a little strange.

Peace.

I read somewhere that Wolfram Alpha is used but I don't know if it's true or how to find out for sure.

ETA:

Rather than return a list of search results in Google, Siri uses Wolfram Alpha to generate what it believes is the correct answer.
