If you read the article you will see it comes from a FOX news source. So chances are the story is false because it is FOX the "news" source that had to sue for the right to lie to the public.

I think it's important to keep one thing in mind with the mad dash to bash sources ..and sometimes I can be bad about MSNBC too, to flip the other side. (I don't trust any of the MSM but that's another thread altogether)

The thing here tho? One of Fox's largest issues lately, as in the last year or two, seems to be the same wholesale copy/paste lifting of stories off other media outlets, the same as they all do to each other. Fox never used to show up in the 15-20 hits I'd get doing a fact check on media article text....for identical wording across multiple lines. Fox sure hits there now.

So what they report is as likely as not, first coming from another source ..and odds are even it's a source we may well consider solid. Just figured I'd toss that in for context. Especially since Fox didn't originate this story by any stretch. They just parrot the copy like everyone else.

If the Ayatollah were really concerned, then he should put a stop to the massive porn market in Muslim countries. And he better put a stop to Muttah marriages in Mecca during hajj. It's not just women, it's Christian and Jewish women that these men are talking to. And these Christian and Jewish women are making a difference.

But what about gay Muslims in France getting married, if it's about sex, then the Ayatollah is clearly out of the loop.

If people really want to know what's going on there, just look at memritv.org and see what is broadcast on Arab tv. But that's too difficult, because people think Fox news reports it, and yet Fox news isn't showing memritv.org

CNN won't say anything against Muslims, because they are afraid. I saw the news anchor say that on tv when asked by a former Muslim. So no, CNN won't because CNN wants to placate, but people think CNN has all the truth. But the sad truth is, CNN is also co-owned by Muslims, as well as the BBC.

If the critics of Fox news don't want to believe Fox, then maybe watching a few hours of Arab news and tv from the original sources might make them think a bit. Fox news isn't the enemy, ignorance is. And not wanting to see what they are saying on their own tv news is just hiding heads in sand, to be ignorant.

I say watch memritv for a while then come back and tell us whether or not Fox news is dangerous.

All the current laws in Iran stem back from the original Ayatollah. Not one of those morality laws came from the Shah.

This guy is just rehashing the morality laws from the Ayatollah, nothing more. When the Ayatollah came into power, he made laws against women riding in taxis and on buses. Does this sound so much different? New guy, same old laws.

No one has rebutted this and to go on live Arab tv and say this against an imam would be a dangerous thing to do. Just think, we had Bill Clinton with an adult Monica Lewinsky, not so controversial when compared to this.

Stewart and Stuart come from the same place, even though the spelling is different. I know because I come from King James II, Stuart and have many relatives that are Stewarts and Stuarts. Just because of a spelling difference makes no difference.

Ayatollah Khemeini was an imam before he became Ayatollah. And I did say it was the Ayatollah. But why do you suppose no one in the government there now has openly criticized the Ayatollah Khomeini for this? Has Khameini said anything against him?

But in your opinion, as a rational thinking person of freedom of speech, what would you suggest we think about this, knowing no one else has criticized him, except for the lone man on Arab tv?

Well lumping everyone into a little box isn't the way to go. I've seen Americans get mighty pissed on here when that happens to them. Historical accuracy wouldn't hurt either.

I have some friends in Iran, they all have to use proxies/proxysoftware anyway.
Once a friend of mine told me it is as normal as having illegal alcohol at home for them.
Nearly every Iranian does it and nobody really cares... ok well they care, but they are not really enforcing the laws.

edit: after reading some posts here, some people should really start getting their heads out of the propaganda books, I am not saying the Iran government is nice, but Iran itself is a nice and beautiful country and full of nice people.
I bet some of you even think every girl and woman there wears a burka or hijab, I know personally that a lot of young girls just go out in the public completely without covering their hairs. And btw. nobody in Iran wears a burka, only a hijab.
Teheran is a really modern city when it comes to technology and architecture.
And girls and women there are of course allowed to use a taxi or bus

Name we one country on the face of the earth that doesn't deserve some bashing. They all have their skeletons. A large portion of this site is dedicated to dragging them out in the open no matter which country we're talking about.

You are talking about Persions v. the regime. We're talking about the regime. The regime enforces these things when and where they can. Your friends still hide a lot with proxies by your own admission and the alcohol is illegal, so I bet they more or less hide that, too.

I don't think they wear a burka. If they did, the guy raving about earthquakes wouldn't be condemning them for not completely covering their hair or wearing clothing that's too tight. You don't have those problems in your women are wearing burkas.

I appreciate your insight and info on it. You'd be surprised how many people I run into that honestly believe Tehran and Riyadh are basically the same place with different governments or something. As if Saudi Arabia and Iran could be interchangeable or at all mistaken if you woke up cold in one place or the other without knowing better.

What's ironic is that I've found myself more often in a position of 'defending' Iran for that pure lack of knowledge to how different they are from Arabs in the last year than ever before ...and I really don't particularly have any use for or warm feelings toward anything in Iranian Government or Establishment.

I just happen to have gotten to know some Shia over the years, learned directly how different the sects of Islam really are ..and don't much think millions of people in Iran need to die for political points made by other nations...and so many find that position offensive.
