If you look at the lin below you will find that the defence minister of Canada is worried about the possibility of an interstellar war.
www.disclose.tv...

SO IT THE REASON THAT THE UK AND USA ETC ARE AT WAR IS SO WE ARE READY IF AN INTERSTELLAR WAR BREAKS OUT?

It occurs to me that us humans have been working towards war and certainly europe has been at peace for a while. In fact with all the organisations that countries seem to be governed and be part of surely peace would be easier? So does anyone think that the wars we have and will have are mostly to prepare us?

After all in the victorian period the uk got rid of citizens right to carry weapons, and the empire crumbled after that. Is that what the world leaders are trying to make sure doesn't happen with the world?

I think that we will see more war at an increased level and also eventually ways of getting ordinary people involved where they live: like a defence force of ordinary people defending their area. But if there was an interstellara war would it matter what we did?

You don't think that a world at war developing better weapons and used to fighting would stand a far better chance in an interstellar war than a world that wouldn't even know how to use a pointy stick never mind remember the finer technological details for good technological weaponry?

So the defence minister of Canada is lieing and aliens don't exist? Or that he is saying they pose a threat when they don't?
WHY WOULD HE DO THIS?

Surely the whole point is to make people think aliens don't exist rather than scare people and cause possible mass panic. Unless it possibly so near : interstellar war: they this is the only way of telling people in time.

Pick up a history book and look at some of the pictures of post World War Two London, Berlin, Tokyo, Hamburg or Dresden.

Alternatively, have a look at the current state of Syria...

Prepared?

In a nutshell, no, two completely different platforms, first the level of technology is eons apart, you can cruze thru space, stay in non or artifical gravity for long periods of time, you rule, you can generate enough power to visit galaxies, you rule, this list is unmeasurable and limitless. Problem is, if there is an innerstellar war, we will be the ones watching the show and dodging the fragments...

How would humanity defend itself in an interstellar battle?

If interstellar being chose an attack on humanity they would probably be a more advanced species with advanced tech.

We are much more advanced that rats. Humans try to wipe them out anywhere they are. Yet rats are many places humans are and populations of rats do not really get wiped out.
WHY
1. Rats are omnivores like humans.
2. They will even eat each other and so they fight hard to survive everyday.

We humans already are no1.
So if we have war we also fulfill no 2: not by eating each other, but by trying to kill each other.

It is very difficult to killl everyone. There will always be some left and the more left the better.

Don't forget we will have Team America on our side.

No one has defeated them ever....well apart from the Vietnamese.

We can just tell em the aliens are coming for their guns.

(Please take it as a joke USAers)

If some interstellar being with advanced tech and possibly advanced natural resources / powers humanity would be wiped out, hiding at best.

Heck they wouldn't even need to make themselves known, they could just send a probe with a germ on which would just wipe us all out, wait a year and mop up us dead humans.

Oh yeah I forgot about those, ahem.

Team America will save the day for sure, right after they ask the Chinese to finance it all.

Woohoo!

Yep with their space hoover, humanity, the new Earth fertilizer, who knows a few whole bones might be found in a few million years and the new species can make up a whole load of stuff about their origins descending from some hominid types with a propensity for believing governments.

You know there has been major catastrophies on earth before. If you look at the indus valley it is still radioactive from thousands of years ago. But there are always people left. It has been said that a large volcano in jellystone park once went off a very long time ago meaning that the sky was covered in dirt and the air killed many people: this is the reason human dna has less diversity that chimps or pigs etc: but humanity survived. I think there would be people left, and the important thing is whether we would hav enough numbers and the fighting instinct to keep out planet.

That's totally besides the point.

A few humans left after hiding isn't the same as governments preparing humanity for interstellar battle.

For all we know, previous wipe out scenarios could be manufactured by interstellar beings but again isn't about battling, it is about surviving.

I am pretty sure there are plenty of underground bunkers prepared for those that can in the event of any such scenario, but again that isn't about preparing the general public for interstellar battle.

Well believe it or not we do have some defensive capabilities that are not known to the public that have and are being developed specifically with this in mind. You see some of them talked about here and other places from time to time. One is a BFL, or big frickin laser.

If you look around there are a few pics of some test fires into space. Of course these weapons have real world applications.

As for the other wars this is the nature of man. We are made in God's image but born into a sinful nature. Don't believe it, we'll look around, you're blind. Greed, power, and soon, resources.... Same thing wars have always been fought over.... Well, okay, as much as I hate it we have to add religion. It historically played a very big role in wars and due to extreme Islamic radicals it is also poised to play big role in the war to end all wars.

No, wars have not been fought to prepare us for anything.

Maybe to get rid of a few of us lol.
