Has anybody even considered that someone does Not want us to explore other Planets? Oh #! Their planning a human trip to Mars! Get the guns out!

Hopfully not all will die off completely, maybe just a big scale Cleaning is planned for us. If you look at it this way it shall happen by Our doing first or in a way Life does it to all Living things.

You either evolved or die off! Being real about all this. Even God would not touch this with a Special Hand! Why? If I was god, I would be pretty pissed just about now.

So you want to Play God do Ya? Going to get the popcorn and watch this one!

How do we convince other humans and Nations to begin to save humanity by getting as many of us off this single basket as we can to ensure we do not go extinct?

I think the preparations are in full order if you ask me? Look at all the private space companies that are willing to sent out people to space within this decade, for the right price. So it will probably a natural selection for the ones who can pay it ofcourse.

So the poor get left behind this on this chewed out planet , or they discover that mars has loads of precious minerals and they gonna give us that wonderful experience for small budget, to go on a trip to mars but then billions have to work under censorship with the promise to go back but never will so earth stays behind with riches of the world in small numbers "hmmm could be a movie?"

Well it is unlikely the Earth, Moon, Asteroids and Mars will all get hit with an Asteroid at the same time so some humans would survive to move back to earth when things settle down should earth take a comet hit.

We know how to build space stations with gravity if we decided to do so we could. It is just expensive. All of us sitting on one rock it really stupid when we know how to move some of us off.

You are forgetting something, the big yellow duster in the sky..well actually it's not so yellow lately, but anyway it calls the shots, when it goes, so do we eventually. Mars might be a temporary option. although without a decent magnetosphere it's not much good for humans in the long term. So far then, only interstellar travel is the only thing that can work, and so far only something like a Amoeba could traverse the Universe.
Having said that, it's kind of ironic that, as far as we know, we could actually be the originators of intelligent design the way we are going.... repeat, as far as we know.

Perhaps the point is to just keep humanity scratching around trying to figure out what the point is?

Either way, it's all just been a huge waste of time. Someone with a more religious bent than myself might think it has something to do with showing glory to God, or maybe eventually becoming one with some wonderful energy source. But those people are just lying to themselves and pretending to have purpose to get from one day to the next. Doesn't matter.

Why is modern man and Nations so apathetic to our eventual extinction? It is a fact Earth will be decimated again...

We know the earth has gone through multiple mass extinctions. It is virtually a fact that humanity will end if we do not spread out and colonize what we can colonize in our solar system.

What are we waiting for? Why would we wait when it could happen right now?

We are the very first known life to know how to colonize planets, asteroids, moons. Why are we so stupid to sit here playing Russian roulette with humanities very existence?

How do we convince other humans and Nations to begin to save humanity by getting as many of us off this single basket as we can to ensure we do not go extinct?

Nothing can really be more important.

Is it religion? Are we really going to place the survival of our species in the hands of Gods who do not communicate with us in an obvious manner?

This is a rather incomplete notion and you might have been best served working this out a bit more. You seem to be suggesting that the human body as it expresses itself is doomed due to xy or z. So, why isn't anyone upset by this enough to figure out an answer to the future doom?

For one, saving the human race by moving a few hand picked people to mars is beyond silly. No matter how you view Earth, Mars is deathly worse. While Detroit may seem awful to many I assure you a day on Mars would be far far worse.

Second: who goes? The reason people can't get worked about getting off the planet is that they won't be going. At best a few go and the won't be you or I.

Third. We all think in terms of our own experience. There is no "humanity to save" as this is just a concept. We all die. Every one of us dies. We all just drop dead. To date, billions have died. Since we all know we die, there is no inherent reason to get worked up about a "future" death for all.

Fourth. Thinking in this was is beyond horrendous for the now. If people stopped thinking toward the future and focused on the now, things would change. But because people are always in the world of fantasy-future, nothing changes, as they see the now as not nearly as important as the future where all is great or horrible.

Fifth. A lot of the world is dealing with food and enough to eat. The concern of moving people on ships to Mars or beyond is beyond silly when a piece of bread is your focus.

We choose to live on Earth, and one day, this option will be gone. On that day, we'll choose to live elsewhere in another form.

Are you certain that all humans are equally apathetic?
Maybe some groups are well-prepared, and it's just the
rest of us that are the dead weight that will be left
behind to die.

It is the speed of our lives, we are really not meant to live the way we do but a more sedate pace of life with time to think, the fast rate of modern life and the constant mind blocking concerns of workplace and career lead most of us to forget long term worries and concerns and our own awareness of the short term of our physical existance also leads us to lose interest in matters we percieve to be beyond that point.

The truth is that in a society growing increasingly more secular with less single unifying religious and social factors we are more insular as individuals for the most part and our own concerns not those of our disparate group have taken short term immediate priority, especially in a world were governments no longer has any true honest commitment to there people but are merely lackys producing legislation for the favoured corporations and there ultra wealthy boards.

Seems reasonable. So now how do we change this before it is too late whether to late is today, now or a thousand years from now? How do we awake humanity to the greater good, the bigger picture?

No we are not all apathetic but it will take the best of most of us to come together to colonize our solar system. To get some of us off this death trap we call Earth.

Initially would be just a few but I propose we develop ourselves to a capability of moving many of us off world and begin to learn and live out in the solar system where we will continue to procreate and evolve.

Time is cyclical, and so is mans evolution-devolution. We think we are so special. I watched a doco the other day about how one day the sun will die and we will eventually have to move off planet. We won't even be around in 500 years let alone 500 million. Its pathetic. We are controlled by another species- force to fight amongst ourselves yet most of the population provide the camoflage for these creatures through ridicule. It would be the same as allied forces in ww2 trying to fly the english channel and 98% of their own population shooting them down because they say the nazis don't exist and the pilots are a dangerous bunch of weirdos. We are doomed because most of the population are blind like moles and stupid to boot.

What makes you think we won't procreate and evolve without the body? There have been billions who have come and gone from earth, they are indeed evolving just fine.
