thanks OP.... you answered by question concerning any Chinese missions to Mars

so the EU, Russia & the USA have all been successful with missions on Mars

Its my thinking that 'Life' will not be officially recognized on Mars until the India mission succeds and both China and Japan will kaunch new active missions to Mars...

all in the name of political correctness no-doubt

with all the current world powers having current and active missions on Mars
only then will Life be revealed so everyone will be in the Spotlight !

so don't hold your breath for a Life announcement until you see the USA EU Russia Imdia China Japan and a S American nation with a project underway on Mars

thanks you

Ha ha....this is the same India which we in Britain send economic and military aid monies too....?

Oh, they have a space agency and a mission to mars........ i believe they even have an aircraft carrier......well that's more than us then....!!

I didn't know we had racist imbeciles on ATS too!

He wasn't being racist...he was being ironic. You failed to notice it, as it blew over your head on the way to Mars.

On topic: Beautiful launch, and wonderful rocket. I wish them luck in this endeavor. I just wish mankind in general was actually interested in space travel, and the wonders of the Universe. Sad days.

Im with you. I can't wait until man stops drawing lines in the sand. How can people not realize this is the future of our children world wide. This is even the beginnings of our own future. Take time out of the equation and we can all ready be there and beyond and this is how we got there. Sci-fi today, reality tomorrow.

Isn't mankind something? So twisted. Can do something as marvelous as this yet still turn it into a ego thing. In the bigger picture it matters not who got there, its the fact that we did.

Im thrilled a country sent something up today, and jolly good for them.

Now one little question as I think I missed it somewhere. They are just going to orbit Mars yes? Not actually land? If they were to land, I bet India would march their rover right up to a stone looking hut and take a Good Picture of it and actually share it with the world!!!

It was reported in 2011 that the United States gave India $126 million in foreign aid...and I suspect over the years more has been given; so perhaps the USA has funded their space adventure.

Oh really ?

How does that work, then, if USA is borrowing trillions of dollars from everyone else ? Does that mean every US achievement now belongs to China, Japan, UK etc etc ?

Just asking.

Personally I don't see why everyone can't just be happy for the Indian people on this day.

This mission is just an advance method of setting up more call center delays.

'Yes sir, it took a while to answer, you are routed through Mars now!'

On a serious note, well done India. We need more like this to rekindle Man's grasp of the future because the present is looking pretty damn awful. Love to know what cameras they are using! Perhaps in color even.

I'm from India. And people in our city are outraged over this ASIAN SPACE RACE POPULARITY CONTEST. INDIANs are one of the most intelligent on the planet. Indian doctors, engineers, scientists are all over the globe.

Why waste all that invaluable brain power on space research? Why is our country spending so much on a popularity contest? Millions are living on the streets, railway stations, slums. Well if they construct a social welfare dept. and maybe shift the population surplus to a future mars colony! Would be great!

Instead of depopulation tactics like poor health management and fatal communal riots and conflicts. And who cares about China or another asian country going to space. If a neighbouring country is planning to nuke us, its here on planet earth! THE ASIAN SPACE RACE proves how west-centric India is!

i very much doubt your brilliant claims on either you belonging to India or the part where people are upset... Because you are brilliantly wrong in both aspects

Ill tell this just once ..... almost 1000 times more money is being spent on poverty alleviation , health and education .. if money has been provided by the govt. to the Indian space agency..nobody has any right to whine about it .. If you have problems with health care , go contact the local govt. Going to the moon and mars is not a popularity contest in any way ... we are not discussing football here .. There is absolutely no rational link b/w health care poverty , education and space research as the money allocated for space is not sacrificed from other sources.

People are just too dumb these days to even figure out how the world works

Hello,
Yes. Definitely i am from India. Regarding the whining part, it's a reaction. We dont have the action-reaction-solution formula like it does in the west.

And yes, the govt. is spending too much money on defence and space. There are 100-500 acres of defence military training camps right next to below poverty line dwellings right here in our cities.

Newly graduated students have to admit themselves into med. schools in china and other countries not becoz they can but becoz there are not enough schools to admit tem
As you can hear India has so much brainpower that only the elitest can apply (wat about the rest who want to apply for less-prestigious med. degrees).

Regarding the whining, of course not. We're part of a city group who petitions regularly about more dispensaries n public health units. But you see nothing seems to happen inspite of protests. But the city police and military are getting ever-present within the citizen city limits (we can understand if theres a military threat but theres not).

Hence why so much spending on defence. Im guessing if ur from outside india. 95% of indians nris are west centric (pretend its all sunshine back home in india-hence the west-centricness).
Please recommend one of

Open a n new thread about this and stop spoiling this thread....i already clearly informed in the 2nd post this thread is not meant to talk about poverty and education.... and not to mention you have no counter to my arguments ...

open up a new thread and ill deal with it...this is about the mars missions so stick to the mission and not poverty porn ....

i can talk all day about relevance of money in space ,defense and other technological advances , but not in this thread..open a new one ..

India has no military threat ? have you been living under a rock all your life ?

Your guessing wrong....i lived in India all my life..i traveled in more than 2 dozen cities all over India, so i know what am talking about..90% of the people support this mission...its only a few who has no clue on how the world works are against this ...

this is my last reply to you on this thread... if you want to debate open a new one on the relevant topic...

Sorry for intruding on your scientific consciousness?

Mention your main/relevant arguments? If you think indian defence/space programs money is not siphoned off from public money.
What makes you think the ex-chequer is an ancient alien enthusiast?

You have a good argument, open a new thread. This thread has nothing to do with political or poverty matter.

That's like telling US to stop doing everything until there are no homeless. Since you are in India, yes US has its share of homeless as well.

This is about Space exploration. Stick to topic.
