Way to go Cheesy!

Glad to see you took Tracehd1's excellent advice to put everything about ISON in a single thread.

I'll be checking it regularly.

BTW Trace - not sure if you knew that embedding has been disabled for the vid you posted. Not a big deal, I just clicked on the Watch it on YouTube link and saw it there.

I will definitely be keeping a close eye on this thread!

Cheesy, do you think ISON is still going to be as bright as we were told it is going to be? I keep reading that it is fizzling out, but the pictures you shared sure make it seem like it is still on track to doing what they said it would. Thank you!

Hey Cheesy! Awesome thread! I'm very interested in this comet as well. I have a question for everyone that has been following this comet....

I went to this link Universe Today and the most recent post on that page made me curious.

This guy says that ISON is bigger than the MOON? Also, it has a powerful magnetic field which could be a problem with the core of the Earth. Here is his webpage with his alert Orb Alert

What are your thoughts? Thank you

The article says that your man noted the comet as follows:
Through his 16-inch (41 cm) reflecting telescope on September 1, he noted the comet as a small object about 0.6 arc minutes across (1 arc minute = 1/30 the diameter of the full moon), brighter in the center and shining faintly at magnitude 13.1
Not the size of the moon but approx 1/50th the size of it.
Or did I read it wrong?
I found this, putting it at 3 miles in diameter:
