The core of all religious systems of belief lead back to the Tower of Babel. All of them. We are told that the Tower of Babel was built "to reach unto heaven" with the intent of "men to make a name for themselves."

It wasn't some sort of stargate, nor was it a tower built to literally rise higher than the moon and into space. It was a tower, yes, but it was a ziggurat-type altar based on the perverse worship of fallen deities after their physical demise from the deluge.

The reason it is said that the Tower of Babylon was built to "reach unto heaven" was because its intent was to be an alternate way to attain eternal life, based on man-made religion, rather than God's way. Since the beginning, mankind has rebelled and chosen to do things their own way. The Fallen Ones, all too happy to oblige mankind in their path to destruction, promised them there was an alternate way to eternal life without having to go through God, by simply re-directing the men's worship and obeisance through and to themselves (the Fallen Ones). But God has already said that the way to eternal life is only through Him and that any other is corruption and leads to death. Period. And God cannot lie.
Because of their very nature, the Fallen Ones can only deceive, and the modus operandi of their deception is to mix a bit of truth in with their lies.

At the diaspora at the Tower of Babel, God divided men into 70 nations, setting a governing spiritual entity over each. The setting of these spiritual authorities were for God's purposes of governance and order in the spiritual realm, but men, in their ignorance, worshipped the governing entities as their god.

The Babel religious "system" is similar all over the world because that's where it originated and it originated with Nimrod who was the grandson of Ham, whom God cursed. Both of these men were of the spirit of Cain, whom we are told is of the spiritual seed of the serpent (also referred to as the evil one).
We are told that Nimrod "began to be a gibborim" (gibbwor), which basically means he began to resurrect the corruption of the Fallen Ones (Nephil, Nephilim, mighty ones) that was rampant throughout the earth before the deluge. Evilness, rebellion and tinkering with the natural order of things was perpetuated by the Fallen Ones to such a degree that the only way to salvage the whole of creation-- plants, animals and people-- which had become utterly corrupted at that point, was to destroy the whole of it save for 8 human beings and a boat load of animals that were still genetically intact.
Bear in mind, that when the Apostles asked Jesus when He would return, His reply was that it would be when things had become like the "days of Noah". Food for thought.

Nimrod and his attempt to "resurrect Atlantis" through the building of huge cities, and reintroducing methods of government, orders of trade and systems of religion that were not meant for men, were an abomination to God. Thus, God's solution to prolong the inevitable total corruption these things wrought among the children of men, was to divide men and their understanding and scatter them throughout the globe. The confusion of similar governmental, trade and religious concepts, but different names and details for each would give mankind the time it needed to reach the appointed point-in-time for the way to salvation to play itself out, for iniquity to reach its fullness in both houses of God, and for the stage to be set (as it had already been appointed since the beginning of time) for the culmination of all things.

One of the greatest slaps-in-the-face to God is goddess worship. For it is through the deception of woman that the evil one gained authority in this domain. Women are inclined to be ruled by their emotions, and although the evil one's target was Adam--the first of creation, the mirror reflection of God-- his clever plan of attack was through that nature of emotion which was divided from Adam-- the second of creation, Eve-- both of which reflecting God and His nature-- authority, leadership and strength in Adam; emotion, tenderness and life in Eve.
Women were not created to be second to men. The human creation--man and woman-- reflected the totality of God, yet divisible by flesh. That is one of the many things inferred by God when He said the two are to BECOME one flesh. Man was created XY and woman, which was taken from that image, was the division of that image in flesh, thus women being XX-- a duplicate of half. In the beginning, Adam was given authority over creation, not Eve and most certainly not the evil one.

Even Jesus reflected God's nature as shown in the original intent of the relationship of man and woman-- to care for and serve EACH OTHER.
Because Jesus is God (God as the image He chose to interact with us), His very existence made Him a servant even unto HIMSELF (God as the essence in which we cannot comprehend or look upon). Men cannot comprehend this because in their mind, one has to be subservient to the other. But this is not the case.

Because God exists outside of creation, Jesus is God's projection of Himself into creation to interact with it. They are one and the same, but different manifestations. Through God's plan for the salvation of men, Jesus served Himself by His incarnation into flesh, His ministry and His death of atonement. The judgment was incurred by a human, therefore it could only be atoned for by a human. But in this case, it was God encompassed in the human flesh of His own creation. A loophole the evil one never anticipated.

Goddess worship is like drinking raw sewage when you could be drinking pure, clear water from the most beautiful and perfect waterfall in existence.

To be honest, the Goddess was around long before any patriarchial societies. The sacred feminine was honored long before Babal was constructed. The oldest traditions are based on appreciation of the feminine. Even Solomon went back to worshipping Ashera (Nin.hur.Sag.) at the end of his life. Being associated with fruit groves and bounty in general, the feminine is far from being evil. On the contrary the energies of this time, are refocusing on rememberance of the divine feminine. Even at 23 I realise (as any real man should) that women are the most beautiful, strongest beings in existence. Without her we are inert.

Hmmm....I wonder why that happened?

But King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites; from the nations of whom the LORD had said to the children of Israel, "You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods." Solomon clung to these in love. And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.

www.enduringword.com...

Are you sure it was just "appreciation" of the feminine that led people to goddess worship?

Wasn't it female goddess worship that led to prostitution in the temples?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I got out of your post is that you think the Tower of Babel came before the flood.

Actually, the flood came before Babel. The flood ends in Genesis 8 while Babel isn't introduced until Genesis 11. Maybe I read your post wrong?

Goddess worship is like drinking raw sewage when you could be drinking pure, clear water from the most beautiful and perfect waterfall in existence.

Worshiping the misogynistic and murderous god of the Old Testament, a god who insists that bearing a child is a sinful and unclean act, is tantamount to raw drinking sewer water, in my opinion.

Leviticus 12:1-8
The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Speak to the people of Israel, saying:

If a woman conceives and bears a male child, she shall be ceremonially unclean seven days; as at the time of her menstruation, she shall be unclean. On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. Her time of blood purification shall be thirty-three days; she shall not touch any holy thing, or come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification are completed. If she bears a female child, she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her menstruation; her time of blood purification shall be sixty-six days.

When the days of her purification are completed, whether for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting a lamb in its first year for a burnt offering, and a pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering. He shall offer it before the Lord, and make atonement on her behalf; then she shall be clean from her flow of blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, male or female. If she cannot afford a sheep, she shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement on her behalf, and she shall be clean.

How long was Mary considered unclean after giving birth to Jesus? And, did she offer a sacrifice of a lamb or turtle doves and pigeons to atone for her sin?

Honoring a god who the has the women of jealous husbands drink "bitter water" to cause the miscarriages of children that might not be their own, is tantamount to drinking raw sewer water!

Numbers 5
23 “‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. 24 He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. 25 The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord and bring it to the altar. 26 The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial[e] offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.

A torn hymen, due to strenuous work, could be a death sentence for a young woman, but "God" didn't care.

Deuteronomy 22:
20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the young woman’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

Your anger and resentment that pervades your perception of God is keeping you blind to hearing any Truth. Whatever happened to you that so perverted your perception of Him, was done through the poor choices of other people, not God.

Without "her"?

Where do you think women came from? And were designed by? Without God, there would be no woman. Your praise and adulation are misdirected to the creation, rather than the Creator.

Have you actually sought out your own foundation for what you believe? Or is it simply based on the popular direction of current thought?

Have you ever read the Bible?

We will all be held accountable for our beliefs, thus I suggest they be based on something more substantial than the college years of kumbaya and love and light, or the empty religious trends of the day.

The first step in finding Truth is to break away from the herd.

What are you talking about? Do you deny that your God is responsible for the murderous scripture that litters the Old Testament? I'm afraid that your perception of God doesn't exist in the Old Testament, but only can be found in your imagination.

I believe in God, but my God ISN'T that character from the Old Testament. My God doesn't hate women or the "Goddess".

What are you talking about?! Long before the biblical version, the Sumerians already told this story. Enki, not your god, did this first.

(two part reply, sorry for the length!)

The Garden of Eden from Judeo-Christian religion is actually derived from the Sumerian story Enki and Ninḫursag: a Sumerian Paradise Myth, in which Enki (the "Fashioner of Images" and "Lord of the Earth") creates a bountiful oasis between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, where all manner of fruit, vegetable, plant, herb, tree, marsh, and more grow freely and abundantly. This paradise is then made the home of Enki and his partner, Ninḫursag, and all the descendants of their line. The first inhabitants of Dilmun, like those of Eden, are tasked with maintenance and upkeep, so that the paradisiacal oasis never loses its luster, beauty, or bounty.

The creation of Adam from the clay of the Earth also has its origin in another Sumerian myth, this one called Enki and Ninmah: the Creation of Humankind. In this myth Enki is tasked with creating a new creature who can aid in the maintenance and upkeep of Dilmun. After getting drunk with Ninḫursag, Enki creates a human being out of the clay of the Earth. Ninḫursag then challenges Enki to a contest, where they will create defective humans, and the other must find a place for them in Dilmun. Enki and Ninḫursag successfully create the races of man in this way, and begin several different genealogical lines.

The origin of Eve also comes from Sumer. In Enki and Ninḫursag: a Sumerian Paradise Myth Enki, out of curiosity, beds each of his and Ninḫursag's children. This upsets the goddess, who believes it is wrong for a father to lie with his daughter. Out of spite, vengeance, and to teach Enki a lesson, Ninḫursag poisons him with a debilitating sickness that will eventually lead to death. After Enki is humbled and apologizes for his offenses, Ninḫursag creates a host of new deities through parthenogenesis that heal all of Enki's afflictions, returning him to normal health. The last healing deity Ninḫursag creates is called Ninti, meaning "Lady of the Rib" or, alternately, "Lady of the Tree". Here we have a youthful goddess, associated with the offense of incest and childbirth, who is created from a rib, and is given the task of overseeing the Tree of Life in the Garden of Dilmun.

The Flood and the story of Noah also has direct parallels in a Sumerian myth called Enki and the Deluge. In this myth the King of the Gods, Enlil, is upset with humanity for their offensive ways. As punishment, he decrees that a world-wide deluge (flood) will be used to wipe the offensive human beings from Earth. Enki, who greatly cares for and loves his creations, decides to act in opposition to Enlil's wishes. Speaking through a reed wall, Enki warns the Sumerian farmer Ziusudra (also called Utnapishtam or Atraḫasīs in later Mesopotamian cultures) about the coming catastrophe. Heeding Enki's advice, Ziusudra constructs a large boat, onto which he loads his family, and enough livestock to repopulate after the flood. Enlil orders a storm deity (sometimes Iškur, sometimes Ninurta) to flood all of the world and destroy all of mankind. After the flood passes Ziusudra and his boat land and repopulate the world with new human beings.

The parallels continue, and not just in Sumerian literature, but also with Egyptian, Ugaritic, Hindu, and Persian literature. Why? Because the Hebrew scribes, when composing their "new" religion (the worship of Yhvh) were too lazy to invent their own story. So, they took that of their neighbors.

When the Hebrews were denied in Egypt, they left with a little bit of Egyptian culture. When the Hebrews were imprisoned in Babylon they left with a whole lot of Babylonian culture. When the Persians freed the Hebrews from Babylon, they took a little bit of Persian culture. When the Hebrew went north, into the Levant in search of a holy land of their own, they mixed with the Phoenicians, Canaanites, and other tribes of that area, borrowing their culture and traditions. When the Hebrews migrated to Europe and encountered the Greeks they borrowed heavily from Greek philosophy and religion.

When Roman Catholicism arose, and the Council of Nicaea set the doctrine and dogma of Christianity, they tacked on the Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible, as a kind of "historical document" which served as a foundation for Jesus and the whole New Testament. The Christians, however, never even realized that Hebrew history, culture, and tradition was lifted from the very paganism which they were now seeking to expunge from the world. They never even knew that their whole history, and the very worship of Yhvh, was based on figures like Enki and Enlil, Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu, Brahma, Amun, and others.

Continued From Above

In possibly the most interesting (or ironic) twist of all, when the imperialistic Romans met with their pagan neighbors (the Celts, the Teutonic pagans, the Arabian pagans, etc) and began to reshape Jesus Christ into a figure under whom all of the pagans could congregate, they were doing exactly what the Hebrews had done: shaping their religious beliefs upon those of the people whom they wished to rule and enslave, while simultaneously denying that those peoples' faith had any merit. This is why so many figures (Mithras, Sol Invictus, Horus, Lúgh, Odin, etc) have parallel lives/experiences with the life and times of Jesus Christ. It is not, as is commonly believed by Christians, because "the Devil had the foresight to arrive before Christ and populate the world with imposters." Jesus is the imposter. Inanna, Dumuzi, Osiris, Ba'al, Attis, Persephone, Adonis, Odin, Baldr... they're the legitimate ones.

All of the Judeo-Christian religious institution is a forgery. It is based on, and contains within itself, the very pagan elements which is espouses to do away with. Without Inanna, Dumuzi, Enki, and Enlil there would be no Yhvh. Without Horus, Attis, Adonis, Lúgh, and Baldr there would be no Jesus Christ. Without Osiris there would be no promise of resurrection, judgment upon death, or spiritual body to be occupied during the End Times. Without Ba'al as an adversary whose qualities Yhvh stole, there would be no holy land for the Hebrews and Christians to covet. Without the duality of Zoroastrianism, or the forced worship of the Aten in Egypt there would be no Judaism or Christianity.

Much, much, much more on the fraudulent history of Judaism and Christianity can be found here.

What I walked away from was the grandest deception ever wrought on humans in the last two thousand years, give or take.

I find it awful interesting that god likes to wait a few hundred, to a few thousand years to intervene in mans affairs, and when he does, he is like a "bull in a china shop". Death and destruction follow the god of the bible when ever and where ever he gets involved. Yet he is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. Seems to me, since he inevitably winds up usurping mans "free will" anyway, he may as well stop things before they get out of hand if he doesn't like what's going on.

And not that she needs my support, but I second Windword's post above as well. What is it with the hatred of women lately on ATS? Are all of the men becoming little boys again, and all the girls have cooties? Sheesh!

Funny, I was wondering why there have been so many threads popping up over the last year on the return of goddess worship. In the meanwhile, you may or may not find it interesting to know that Washmorefeet and I are both women.
