I don't think it's quite that devious....it's more a matter of a girl growing up and shaking off the Disney image. Is it really 'cool' to be Hannah Montana when your out of high school anymore? Taking a cue from both pink and Rhianna...pardon the spelling, and a cue from every pop star that ever pulled a raunchy stunt to help sell a soon to be released album and get that ever more valuable spotlight. This was marketing brilliance!

How old is everyone on this thread?? Anyone ever heard of Madonna?? This is not a new thing to be "shocking". This is a planned event, she has a new album coming out.

and then, when the idol goes Bad,
the energetic imprint within the 'fans' cause that those people get susceptible for óther Negative energies

You are correct this is nothing new. And it hardly goes back to just music, remember Melissa Joan Hart? For these younger entertainers it isn't really about the same things as it is for Madonna and Lady Gaga. This is about transitioning from a child star into an adult star. And this is where what Ms. Cyrus did was really shocking, she was bad at it. Instead of coming across as a provocative, bold, entertaining entertainer she comes across as being the girl willing to make all the wrong choices because she can to prove she is all grown up now.

Miley was doing what she wants, mixed with "thinking" she was doing what she wants. She has a whole team around her, it was all very well planned. She is a clever clever clever woman she runs her empire very well.
She marketed herself exactly as she wanted to to not become a distant child star memory. Her tongue out with the teddy bears looked like she is sticking it to the child star brand, she 'aint so cute any more.

I wonder whether Miley Cyrus is transforming at her own free will - as a teenager expressing herself or whether this is a deliberate choreographed exhibition to capture yet another audience of dirty old and young men.

When such huge amounts of money come into play and contracts dictate actions etc how free is an artist. Obviously the prettier the better so a good 'display'

I think the artistry here has gone into a dark space, we are hugely populated yet our young are being launched into
ever more suggestive sex at a very early age which spoils their innocense way too early.

What bothers me about this is that a few corporate ghastlies financially benefit from this exploitation and get congratulated on their 'success' by the masses.

The act of sex which should be a beautiful act is being pimped by these moguls.

I am outraged people are not. You have me on your side there. The sexism is tremendous with this Miley and Thicke stuff. It's astounding. Even more so that it's coming from both genders.

No doubt the moguls with their eye on the bottom line are ok with her little stunts. They make them money with no real investment. But at the end of the day this has to be more her own doing. Studios and record execs do and will suggest pushing her sexuality, but the response they want is WOW that was hot I want to see more ala Britney, Madonna and Lady Gaga. They are not looking for WTF was she doing or better yet thinking taking out a life size teddy bear.

All of her recent stunts point to a young girl desperate to break the carefully molded Disney image and on her way to an emotional breakdown like those that came before her. I don't know what it is but when I see other women act like this, I always get the feeling they are trying so hard to compete with how they think men act. If that makes any sense.

Before her image "makeover" this year, Cyrus left the Disney-owned Hollywood Records, and signed with RCA (which I can't find any evidence offhand of the two corps. being intertwined). There isn't any "plan" behind a 20 year-old millionaire putting their money up their nose and turning on the sex appeal. These formerly "innocent" stars are growing up, and becoming jaded in the entertainment industry.
You don't have to look hard to see that many child stars turn into drug addicts, as having the Sword of Damocles hanging over your head from a young age tends to make you not turn out too well adjusted. The reason Miley is twerking and singing about molly is that she, like Justin Bieber pissing in a mop bucket, are too damn high.
I'm a long time lurker (without an account) on these forums and this is my first time posting, but I always see people looking too closely at the mundane for evidence of whatever worldview-defining conspiracy is theirs; If you want to point out something about Lady GaGa's mysticism laden music videos / outfits / persona, I agree that there is some merit to that thought (though she, like Drake / Bieber / Jay Z seems to be doing it purely for the aura of mystique that flying those flags attaches to her act). In the case of Miley doing these wild acts in a performance, it's because she wants to appeal to a wider audience (of older, pervy men). It's a shameless money grab.
As a counterpoint, look at Justin Bieber's stage persona - still a squeaky clean one-man boy band. (With some kinda weird messianic crap with the all-white outfits, and I think I saw a picture of him wearing angel wings somewhere). He is still working at his target demographic, and his transition towards working with more hip-hop acts is how he will attempt to evolve, as pop / R&B / rap / EDM are all the same genre in modern music, and it is an existing archetype that can be filled, just as "Scantily-Clad Temptress" has been an established trope for female performers for decades.

TL;DR: No conspiracy of corruption, just normal sex, drugs, rock & roll (&$) corruption
