In all honestly, America - when the # are you finally going to do something? Not occupy, not Tea Party - BUT REALLY DO SOMETHING. Your government is no longer of the people, it is run in the shadows by corporations....and they are trying to grind the entire world under their feet.

This goes way beyond Republican this and Democrat that.....do you realize how little time is left before you will be sitting there going WTF just happened.

Very interesting comment. I began to read Dirty Wars and then decided to read the first book Blackwater and the use of private non accountable personnel in Iraq. At one time there was 160,000 boots on the ground but at the same time there was 180,000 security personnel too. Many have said that the people who have become part of the Oath Keepers would not turn on the American public but what about the private corporate armies who only allegiance is to the all mighty dollar?

Obviously you don't try and do this WITH THEM in power.

The first part of the solution which you glanced over was removing them by force of numbers.

Then any of those that want to be a political member of any capacity, would have to agree to the new rules and regulations.
If they don't, then they don't get a position of political authority.

You can see how much the American people are lazy and scared. The best example is Hollywood: We went from Russian terrorism movies to Christian terrorism movies to Middle Eastern terrorism movies and now we're entering the age of Domestic Invasion movies. If that isn't a tell-tale sign I don't know what is.

Why not just do it instead of just talking about it here on the internet?? The thing is that most of you americans are either cowards, lazy or both. You rather sit in comfort at home instead of actually doing something.
It really amazes me how there has been no protests and even how average joe is pretending everything is the same and that they knew about all this already, even though they called us all crazy just one damn years ago for claiming that our governments are spying on their own civilians.

I wonder what you are waiting for really.. It really cannot get much worse than it is now as we have already reached 1984 level when it comes to surveilance.

I agree with you 100%! People love to talk the talk behind a computer screen! I do this every weekend...Protests..

Edit to add: I went thru the thread, and EVERYONE dogged your post above! I guess it'll be just another day here on ATS talking out of our a$$'s and not doing anything about it...

I'm finding the "one on one" situation to be effective. I talk to a lot of people throughout my workday. There's a lot of gauging and subtly involved, but it's always real. I feel like people are relieved and empowered when they realize we're all holding similar opinions.

I think there is an argument for the citizens of America to overthrow their government. The problem is...how, when and who would take over next. What would we change....what new ideas are coming to the table. Ive thought on this deeply. Im troubled by the fact that if it was a violent overthrow I wouldn't feel right, but im also troubled by the fact of what my government is doing. I don't hate America...I don't like my government but I don't even know which one is which...who's fault is what.

I guess if the military stepped in it would be a start...otherwise it would be left to the American people or an outside source..which could backfired if an outside source were involved.

So to me my options are....1) leave the country....2) recommend everyone resist everything...resist every traffic stop, every tax, everything....eventually they will have to arrest us all and it would be so overwhelmingly expensive they would have to give in and maybe then we could meet at a table and discuss things. And when i say resist i mean to not comply..non violent...

However I unfortunately believe the country is a sinking ship even with change...so im opting to go by by instead. Ive dedicated over 10 years of public service to America only to have it # on me...have no intentions of giving another second to this country.

3) Drop out. Become more self sufficient. Don't play in the world of the elite. Don't do their bidding. Don't fund them. They cant' run their game without our participation.

IMHO the title of this thread really needs to be changed. There is nothing cowardly about shutting down a profitable business in the name of user privacy.

ALL Americans have got to come together to fight the good fight. Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, homosexuals, heterosexuals, Christians, atheists. ALL colors or and creeds. All Americans have got to unite under one banner. One flag. The American flag! Obama is just a puppet, and there are much greater powers at work pulling the strings. We need to put our energy towards the ones who really have the power. Congress, Federal Reserve, NSA, IRS, lobbyists, big business, etc... Our government wants to see us fighting amongst one another. We have got to stand together, or this great country will fall! If we don’t unite as Americans, if we don’t fight, the day will come where we wished we had. Our rights, our freedoms, are being taken away from ALL Americans. America is at the brink!

I try to talk to a lot of people, but most are oblivious as to what's going on in America, and choose to live in that happy little bubble. It's sad really...

Anyone who thinks ANYTHING electronic is in ANY way secure from the MASTERs of cryptography, needs to put down the Koolaid. How deluded can you get?
ARPNET then internet they know all about it folks, it is an intelligence coup...once Utah goes online they will have an effective profile on all of us.
Think I'm paranoid? You're slow.
What possible use can a website be by protesting that fact by taking down their stuff? Sounds like you're biting your nose off to spite your face,a bit.

We will look back 10 years from now and think to ourselves WOW how free we used to be. TPTB are not hiding in the shadows anymore they finally figured out the people are weak and apathy rules the day.

They can do whatever they want and nothing will come of it. As long as we are not hungry and the entertainment flows nothing will change. We lost a long time ago.

That's where you are wrong... They will FORCE you to participate.
You see this with SWAT raids on Community Farms and people trying to grow their own produce.
It is happening now and once more people start doing it, it will become intolerable for them.
Then you will have it against the law due to some FDA regulation and you'll need license after license et c.

Just wait... You'll see.

Here we are with nowhere to go.

It's back to hardware modems, analog copper lines and bulletin boards. Even then you need a system capable of an ISA hardware modem. You'd also have to go back to pre-win95 OSR2, Win 3.1 with WINsock to ensure a half safe internet adventure assuming there wasn't a back door in the very first implementation of TCP/IP.

The TCP stack in even modern Linux distros is likely compromised.

Forcibly removing the established power structure quite frankly isn't going to happen. I'm not one of those who parrots the idea that only peaceful methods are valid because violence delegitimatizes the movement, rather I'm just looking at facts. The "enemy" has stealth bombers, fighters, drones, tanks, body armor, infrastructure, currency, shipping channels, naval power, WMD's, surveillance, and satellites. I'm probably missing a few too. Forcing out the existing power structure at the point of a gun simply can't happen. There are two other methods, one of which is so far against the T&C I can't even hint at it (not to mention, illegal to write down) and the other is to work within the existing framework, which essentially means making it beneficial for congress to do something beneficial for us rather than the corporations and the military industrial complex... and that whole thing ties back to my idea which you disagree with... Flood congress with wealth (bribes) provided they vote in the publics interest.

Not as deluded as you seem to be. I am one of those 'masters of cryptography'
. Now, if you'd offer me a million to break a duly encrypted message, I would not be able to. Nor would ANYBODY else. Repeat: nor would ANYBODY else. Get that into your thick, paranoid skull, my friend: you can be safe if you want to - it's not hopeless at all.

Safe from somebody reading your electronic messages, that is. But not from some man, whose paranoia matches or surpasses yours, I'm afraid. They will visit you and ask you what that message said you just encrypted. And they may even put you in prison if you don't tell them. Please note that PRISM and the likes are mainly there to check who is talking to whom and if you're in the habit to convey encrypted messages to the current head of the Al-Q cell in your realm they may visit you. And ask you to hand over the keys. Lawfully.

Hello SkepticOverlord,

Man you just don't get it, do ya?

None of you do...you just can't read between the lines...

So let me get this strait, Lavabit, the email service Snow used shuts down and then other high profile sites call it quits and you guys think they are scared? That's funny.

They did not call it quits out of fear, they have nothing to fear they shut down, nothing can be done to them in the very near future. They shut down because they know something anyone else still running around on the net doesn't.

You guys seriously think you can stop the control of the internet? Ha! that's like thinking you can stop TV or radio from being controlled. Hell the damn press is controlled and they are the only watch dog you have LOL.

Game over,

The Rat.

P.S.This site has nothing to worry about though. With it's strict T&C and the fact that you don't even need an age restriction, not to mention this is a forum and anyone can read what anyone has ever posted; you have nothing to worry about.

Edit: I don't mean that in a bad way, I'm just saying, this site is honestly pretty damn family friendly. Hell the only reason I think members can talk about a plant now is because it got to the point where it was every where in the news...just saying.......the AOL of conspiracy sites,

I'd like to think and I suspect I'm right that these shut downs are not acts of cowardice but a PSA on where the US government has stretched the battle lines to. These sites and services were highly used by millions everyday and while I'm sure that users of such services were already Surveillance State aware, I imagine it made a lot of people say out loud, "Sht just got real". I think we have not heard the last of these people, not by a long shot. Provided they aren't disappeared of course.

One really scary thing to think about, this is also a statement that there is no where to run. There may be countries willing to grant asylum, but as we've seen with Assange and Snowden... how are they going to get there? I think really soon we will begin to see a pattern of "whistle-blowers" and the journalists that plan to cover their stories... getting to those countries before publishing.

All of this is showing that the US is the Global Governance we've all been fearing.

I think the will set up shop in safe countries.
and people will believe that they will be very safe with them.
so all the old customer and new ones will join up.

But! is this a trap?
is the NSA dong this?
ever one will think they are safe to use e-mail again.

but the (safe) e-mail are in the hands of the NSA.
and it is Business as usual for the NSA.

SkepticOverlord

This is our time. This is our fight.

WE MUST toss aside the petty partisan wars that are merely a tactic in the grand Con Job being perpetuated on the American people and the world. There are no more liberals, there are no more conservatives, there are no more libertarians, and there are no more socialists. There are only those who are classified as potential enemies by the U.S. Government -- all of us.

The most important words presented, think about it folks, really think about it..

Rise above the noise and take a good look around at what is really happening here, a small step away from the comfort zone, an open mind, and in the vacuum of silence above the noise, dots can be connected.

No one likes to feel they have been conned, I know I don't, but once I took a few steps back, and accepted that I have been played, I wasn't embarrassed, I was angry, and not so much at the folks pulling the strings on all of us puppets, I was angry with myself for so easily being manipulated for years to think a certain way, and worse, helping the efforts of folks who care not one iota for you and me.

Invest some time, peel back layers, don't accept BS excuses from our so called elected representatives in the FED Gov't, challenge their every step, inform others, it won't be easy but I still have faith in the people and through the people, we can turn the tide against this decades old path we have been traveling...

Think about it ?
