How do you see your future in 10 years from now?

So...
In an age when there are few jobs to be had,
and the profession of tailors is all but extinct,
I should take the word of someone with $10,000 clothes
that I should wear "clothes of the mind,"
and then I will be beautiful and kept clean.

What is this,
a session of thought police?

No,this the proof that material things are and should be less important for the future to be bright.

It doesn't matter what kind of clothes you were now days,all it matters are the thoughts you have ,for them to be beautiful and bright.

I take it back.

T-shirts are slave rags.
Even the peasants in Russia
had higher quality, brighter clothing
than we do in the modern age, with all our tech.

That is historical popular clothing,in the big cities they wear the same thing as everywhere in the world,maybe even worse....

Oh,I don't know what to say about that,I do not watch TV for years now,because I believe it is useless and unhealthy.

Ten years from now, I see myself logged into ATS, replying to a thread asking "How do you see yourself in ten years."

Honestly, I see myself much the same. I'm an optimist and things are never as bad as predictions indicate. Seriously, if I go through another year with all of the threats of $5.00 gas and all the other nonsense which never happens (at least in Texas) that might be enough to make me insane...

Oh,you mean ten dollars gas?

Except for the natural disasters which cannot be prevented.

Therefore the price of gas may grow as high as 10.

I use to think in 10 years i would have the house paid off,
kids would be almost on their own by then, i would have a
little spot off in the mountians with a self suficent little cabin,
garden, the works, build other cabins to rent out for income,
sell this house for 3x what we paid (because of the location and
the price we got it at) and retire and enjoy the rest of our life in
obscurity, come to town once a month to load up on goodies and grub
that we couldnt grow.

But after the doc visit last year, *thinking nope a little longer than that*
i see myself 6 feet under, gone from this rock, robbed of the experience
of growing old and enjoying a semi retired life. Hoping i did things right
so the wife and kids will be ok, after all they have a long time to go yet.
shoot i was hoping to at least hit the age of 55, but not looking like thats
going to be a option. Gota get in what i can now while i'm still some what
able. Look out hunting season. Really getting buck fever this year. Mid
summer and i'm dreaming of freezing my butt off in the Montana winters
hoping to get a decent sized elk.

Oh well, we all have to go some time right? at least i can say i lived this life,
not always good choices, but as far as the big things, no regrets, never had
to wonder "What if i had" Because i did it.

Had many jobs of all types, from working on a boat dock to driving a semi truck,
bottom of the todem pole, to managment, not much i have not done, although
i have to say, my favorite job i ever had was working in a auto body shop,
creating something butiful out of a bent up piece of wrekcage, or resoring a
road runner, then putting that shiney new coat of paint on it and have it roll out
looking like a show room car. Loved that job.

Lived all over the U.S. i've probably lived in more states that most people have
visited.

Nope cant complain, had a good life, and if my time card is punched soon,
well, at least i got out there and did things.

My future in ten years? I will either be fantastically well off due to a business venture I am in the middle of taking to the next level of profitability. Or, I will be selling coconuts in Costa Rica. I am kinda good with either.

Although I will most likely dead from Fukushima related cancers, as will you.

To be honest, i don't think i will ever have a future with all the lies being told, not only to me but also to other people.
With the college degree i will have, there is not even sure if i can raise kids or a wife.

For those who are in complete denial and think we're just going to bounce back after collapse, I regret to inform you that there is no feasible way for this to happen.

The only reasonable stance is controlled collapse, not growth, simply being able to keep a hold of civilization as we are forced to limit rates of consumption, deal with the increasing levels of pollution, environmental degradation, and climate change.

The only way this has a happy ending is if we are proactive, but it seems that window of opportunity closed sometimes last decade. The best we can hope for is not to end up in a "the road" like scenario.

Where do I plan on being? Well I'm physically training, and saving resources. I'll keep my strategy in flux with the changing winds, but the overall plan is to keep my wits, and have wild experiences until the price of admission is no longer worth the thrill of the ride. I don't need to be one of the last to go out, but will be happy simply trying to survive until it's simply not worth it anymore. Then I'll check out.

Whether that be 10, 20, or 30 years down the line, I have no clue. All I know is that we done screwed up this planet, and it's not going to get any better than it was pre 2008.

Hmmmm that's a good one. Well here's my thought. My guess is we'll see some minor improvements to certain things. but generally nothing all that different that what we have right now. The reason is that tptb can't allow us to have too much futuristic gear. If we did we'd then progress to advance at an exponential pace using that new technology. A prime example of that would be robots. If you could buy a robot that could do your job for you so that you could go do something else that would allow you to get ahead too quickly. Or anything for that matter. Like if there was a chip that would allow you to instantly download to your mind some kind of university level skills of any sort, sort of like in The Matrix part 1. Where he learns advanced skills in seconds. Or anything, like communicating at the speed of thought, free energy etc etc. If we had those tools society would then be able to grow at such an alarming pace that it might actually cause some major problems.

so instead we're given tiny changes each decade but never enough to really do anything with those changes. The only one thing we've gotten some help from is the internet. that has a changed a lot, but I think they've learned from this and they're trying to correct it with heavy laws placed on internet users, service providers etc etc, as a means to try and control it.

Like advanced technology placed in the hands of the masses would threaten the existing power structure. So no in 10 years it will be likely a few minor advances and much of the status quote that's my opinion. They'll be a newer version of anything that makes tptb more money without given us jack sheeat in terms of technology to advance our own lives. So yaaahhh we'll get some new video games, or maybe a newer version of 3d movies yaaayyy! And we'll have the tsa at the theaters by that time, but remember it's to keep us safer. ha ha.
