Now I'm posting this as a possible as it can not be verified, but for me it appears that what I'm looking at is fragments of a bowl or some type of pot.

I'd like to ask the good folk at ATS what they thought of this as I think it deserves discussion..

Here is the link gigapan.com... If you zoom in on the bottom right underneath the rock in the shadow that's where you'll find it, it sort of looks like horns protruding up out of the ground
. I hope someone here can take a shot of it for me and post it in this thread as I don't have the skill to do so.

So ATS, what do you think it is, is it some type of archaeology or just a rock ?

In order for there to be a bowl, there would have needed to be a civilization that made the bowl. All the things that go with a civilization. Like, some type of villages, cities, buildings...and so on. How in the world would all traces of all that came before the bowl, completely disappear, yet part of a bowl is sitting there, right out in the open.

Unless you think bowls just fall out of the sky onto the surface of Mars.

Does this not make sense to you.....

I don't know much about geology. Look, at the surrounding rock; see those nodules all over the bare face of that stone overhanging where the 'bowl' is in the second pic. I believe that is what we are seeing. It's a remnant of some of that weird geologic concrescence up there; looks like it fell off. The extraordinarily dry conditions on Mars is likely why it stays intact like that.

Freaky though, right?

Ahh yes I can see what you mean, it dose appear to fit in with the geology of the rock face but it also dose appear as if protruding from the earth or should I say mars, ha ha I don't know, but it certainly piqued my interest.
